I'd like to start Tigurius embarked on a Stormraven that has been placed in reserve. Tiggy has an ability that allows him to re-roll reserve rolls if he is included in the army. I will be running him and the SR as an allied detachment. Does this work, or must he be on the board to use it?

He can use it off the board, same as the Autarch's ability to manipulate reserves off the board.

It was specifically mentioned in one of the FAQ's that the Autarch can use the re-roll reserves ability so I'd assume the same applies to Tiggy.

The autarch is a + or - to reserves, not rerolls (from memory)

Its not the same.

But if abilities that work off the board are able to be used, it's possible that Tiggy's works the same way. The ability does state "as long as he's part of the army", and Reserves are still considered a part of the army.

Yep the only restriction is that he only allow to reroll for units of his very same detachment, something to notice if you aren't running a gladius.

You're right, it's why I said manipulate rather than reroll, but it's a good catch, I should have worded that a little better
