Because I think the bikes are pretty badass-looking, I'm gonna convert three bikes to have Skitarii riders (as I play primarily pure Skitarii) and ally them into my army. Honestly, it's not a tactically wise choice and lorewise it's probably heresy, but I do what I do for aesthetics. What's the easiest way of doing that? I'm looking at the Ravenwing Attack Squadron, as it just requires me to add a landspeeder as well, but is there any easier way?

An independent character on a Space Marine bike makes Bikers change from Fast Attack to Troops. An Allied Detachment with a Captain, Chaplain or Librarian leading a unit of Bikers is an option.

That's amazing. A Techmarine to lead them would fit the bill nicely... and be a much more extensive modelling project, I suppose.

I need to get paint on mine.

Most of the parts you need to make one can be found on the vehicle accessory sprue. I used a ML loader arm for the servo, but have it magnetized to swap out for a c-beamer, made mostly from the HK missile and radar dish from the vehicle sprue.

If you are using Skitarri in theme and not Space Marines, why limit yourself to Space Marine rules?

A Skitarii rider would theoretically be T4 on a bike. Ad Mech are the most technologically advanced human faction, and Skitarii are part of Ad Mech. They could probably rider hover bikes

So what T4 jetbikes exist in 40K?
That's right, I am advocating you to use an allied detachment of Eldar. 101 pts gets you 1 Warlock on bike and 3 Windriders. Add Scatter lasers if desired, or use a Farseer or Autarch instead of the Warlock
I'd love to see what a Skitarii hoverbike looks like.

I love the very subtle servo arm. Most conversions I've seen throw on 4 huge arms that look like the bike will topple, but you can't figure out in which direction as it has the most unpredictable center of gravity.

While this is an absolutely fantastic idea, the whole thing was born out of an old desire to field standard SM bikes. But I'm gonna pocket that idea of yours for a rainy day. It's an incredibly flavourful idea.

If you want use dark angels then use Ravenwing Strike Force (can contain black knights, if you put them reserves they come automatically in turn 2). Other way is vanilla sm with bike hq.

Don't have codex in front of me, but I'm pretty sure it's just the Space Marine Captain/Chapter Master that gives that option, and not just any independant character on a bike.

Although you could count any servo arm looking thing as a powerfist or thunderhammer.

Personally, I would convert Skitari Riders in place of Space Marine ones, and just use the Space Marine Allies rules for those models.

In the 5th and 6th edition C: SM books, you'd be right. In the 7th edition book, I'm almost 100% certain that it's any independent character on a bike.

Actually have the book, even though I never played them, so when GoonBandito mentioned it, I checked it, and it's any IC. (Took a while to find, as I didn't expect the rule to be under the bike squad.)

And that's basically exactly the conversion I'm doing. I'm taking Skitarii riders from the chicken robots, and modding them to fit on marine bikes.

Good to hear I was mistaken about that then. A techmarine would fit the theme better.

Be sure to update with a few pics. I'm sure I'm not the only one curious to see how it turns out.

If you are going to run the vanilla dex I would recommend using the white scars rules. Which give you special relics also. i think the rules are in the Warzone damacles and maybe reprinted in Angels of Death.

If you're doing Skitarii, go for Iron Hands to match the 6+++.

The exact two I'm looking at. While I feel like Iron Hands is more true to their fluff, Hit & Run would just make the unit play a lot more fun. It's a very small unit, after all, and getting it bogged down somewhere will sort of ruin it.

Indeed. That's a combo that hadn't occured to me. Adding annoyingly difficult to kill Psykers is a great option.
