So, on account of me always having a soft spot for Orks annnnnd kind of sort of impulse buying on ebay (It was so cheap!!!) , I'm finally joining the WAAAAGH!

Here's the list of stuff I got:
1 MegaArmor Warboss
1 Painboy
1 Mek
123 Slugga Boyz
16 Shoota Boyz (Probably convert to Tankbustas or Lootas)
7 Heavy Shoota Boyz
2 Nobs with Claws
13 Other Nobz
5 Savage Orks (Fantasy)
17 Grots (+2 of their Babysitters)
2 Looted Wagons
1 Battle Wagon
2 KillaKans

So, with that I ask where I should go in terms of buying/converting/scratchbuilding? What would be the best thing for me to run at the moment? Any other advice for running Orks?

I'm not oppose to forgeworld, my other army is Renegades and Heretics.

Gotta say, if you can get your hands on the old (not the new version) of the Waaagh Ghazkull supplement, the Green Tide formation would be spot-on for that collection (with a CAD of Grots + Painboy).

I have a Waaagh Ghazkull supplement, and I'm pretty sure its the old one. It has the Green Tide formation in it so I'm assuming it is. What happen to the new version? 100 Boyz sounds (plus painboy and big mek with KFF?) sounds like a fun way to run them for now!

So I have a lot of Slugga boyz, do I really need more than 100 (for green tide)? Should I start converting those other ones, and if so, to what? I'm thinking lootas to support green tide, but id like to eventually have enough vehicles to run tankbustas

Wait! Can I use the Ghazghkull book to run a normal CAD + The Green Tide?
Warboss from Tide grabs Bigboss pole, Big Mek grabs Mega Force Field + Painboy. 100 Ork Boyz with 4+ Invul and 5+ FNP?

Thing that are not that hard to do and will be quite usefull for your army.

General advise :

Give your warbozz a lucky stick. Model it on him somehow, and you have the most used HQ in the ork army book.

Get more claws add claws to the nobz. ( you want 1 claw nob on 11 boyz for trukk boyz build and a green tide army also needs way more claws)

Get a few deffkopta's you don't have any and they are good don't leave home without them.

Build yourself some scratch build mek guns. you could be fielding 4 of them with the grots you have.

You have a lot of boyz ( like most old ork playes) the sad thing is ork boyz aren't really that good any more and most players have switched to other units but there are a few ways to still use them.

This will give you the option to at least run your army as a green tide. This is fun to field once in a while, but it is not really a flexible build and gets dull fast (both for your opponent as for you).

You could also field your army in a more traditional way. Multiple Blobz of 30 slugga boyz with 1 power klaw nob in each unit backed up with some loota's and other shooting stuff. This might be more fun to play but isn't really that viable vs most modern lists.

Trukk boyz requires you to have trukks. you will need 1 trukk per (11 boyz +1 nob) so this will be a lot of trukks. This build kinda works and is one of the few lists currently using a lot of boyz.

You can. This is the traditional way to field it. but it gets quite expensive if you also want to pack some oomph. And remember that 4++ is only for MODELS within 6" of the mek.
If you are going for this and actually like it then you might also want to invest in some aircrafts since ork planes really benefit from the all turn waaagh.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
There is a modern alternative I forgot to mention. That is the ghazkull warband formation thingy + the core formation out of the new waaagh ghaz formation. It gives you waaaagh from turn 1, and a overprized ghazz deathstar. Not the best build in the world but it might just be an interesting alternative to play with and you almost have all the models for it.

Just reread the rules for the KFF, still a good way to run it, but defiantly not as strong as I thought it to be.

Ill defiantly be picking up more Klaws when I get the chance.

Bozz wont leave home without his stick (Unless he has the BigPole)!

What do people think of Blitz Brigade? Battle Wagons seem more fun to scratch build than trukks.

Also, what Mek guns would you recommend?

Mek guns I like.
Kustom mega guns. Cheap decent are and ap plus they are blasts the gets hot doesn't really matter that much.

The realtor guns. Good for shooting down flying stuff.

Lobbas cheap and barrage. Barrage is one of the best rules in the game in my opinion.

The ap1 gun looks attractive but I never seem to trust it enough to field one. It simply has too much miss chance stacked in top of each other.

Blitz brigade is good but most armies can't find a way to make use of them in such a way that they are worth its points.
And they will crumble vs travel spam.

What do you want to get? Horde, gunline, speedfreaks, relatively small elite force or maybe a superheavy division with a stompa? All of this is pretty viable. For examply, i'm running bully boyz (3*5 meanobz) and am pretty happy with results. Tired of hordes and don't have bikes for the speed freaks.

Ive already built some Lobbas and Mega-Kannons if I count what I have for Renegades and Heretics, come to think of it, if I'm somewhere forgeworld friendly, I could ally them an leverage R&H artillery. (Say hello to my earthshakers and medusa) Only problem being possibly blowing my advancing half off the table...

Bully Boyz is something I want to build toward but I dont have the models for it yet. Id like to get battlewagons/Looted Wagons and run orks like that sometime in the future.. but I dont think that will be anytime soon. Not a Superheavy fan

You can run bully boyz in trukks. Battlewagons are not what they used to be. There's just too many options of stopping a vehicle regardless of it's AV. And paying extra points to go to av 12-14 only works vs certain armies. It might sound odd but a 110 pt av 14 front vehicle is kinda overpriced now. I've found that a better way is to get Voidshield Generator and trukks. It's cheaper and better vs stull like grav or haywire. Yep, grav immobilizes and Destroyer weapons explode vehicles regardless of AV so it doesn't really matter if you're running a truck or landraider - you're screwed anywayz. The benefit of a trukk is that it's cheaper at least. Sure, battlewagons will protect you from broadsides and even scatbikes to an extent. But you'll be facing sm 80% of the time. And sm means grav.

You could also get gunwagos for 13-12-10 for 60 pts. They're considered a superior option to battlewagons due to being so cheap and still providing av13. The downside is that they're Forge World and eat up heavy support slots.
