So I am thinking of starting an Imperial Fists army and I was wondering if anyone knows how to paint them how GW wants you to paint them. I know this is a crazy way to do it and there might be some better options (currently leaning towards army painter colored primer) but I just wanted to see the recommended way of painting them and what paints they use and the whole process of layers washes etc.

GW's own painters probably know a thing or two about it...



That's just the armour, but I'm assuming that's what you're mostly after. If you want tips on weapons and details, all their longer Marine videos cover that sort of stuff.

I think Buypainted made a video about painting heresy IF, I think he said he painted it in a more "GW way". I'll try find a link for it.
