The War of 1812 is interesting. Every major combatant with the exception of the Native American tribes claims that they won, and the funny thing is, all of them are kind of right.
The US says they won because they repelled a second British invasion and put an end to the impressment of American sailors by the British (one of the reasons the war started).
The British say they won because they briefly occupied Washington and burned the White House.
The Canadians say they won because they repelled the American invasion of Canada.
