Hey guys so my google fu is crappy today and I cant figure this out. The wife said since I was nice I can get 500$ worth of toys. Well I have 10 boxes of ironjawz not opened so I was thinking about starting a new army. I HATE all the AoS models except for iron jawz so far so I am going classic!!!. I was thinking dwarfs but with the fire dwarfs who do something with gold or erm gold think it is called their are off the table.

So it comes down to more iron jawz or beastmen. If I get beastmen will a battalion or a new book for them come out in like a week and ruin my life like the rest of AoS? Or will they keep their classic appeal? Or will they end up like skaven, home boys with warriors of chaos?

So incase I hid my questions lol

1: Will beastmen get updated to something stupid and ruined like the rest of AoS? So it would be a waste of money.
2: Will a battalion for them come out soon to get them cheap?
3: Are they getting a new book and stuff to bring them into 40k with battalions and such that I should keep an eye out for?

I need to go to work every day.

Well the only new Beastmen so far are the return of Tzaangors in the Silver Tower Set (unusable without points in certain game modes however)

Also... You do know Beastmen are chaos affiliated right? They've always been homeboys with chaos since their inceptios.

Ya but it was one of those uneasy pacts. They where not so much friends as just getting along aslong as their was a fight.

When I first started beastmen you could have a beastmen general which made all core beastmen and all warriors added special. Ect for daemons. or was it rare.....

Anyways beastmen killed chaos, chaos killed beastmen but when a third party came in they killed them first. Not like a friendly team type of style.

Considering the Skaven with the exception of Pestilens and Nurgle (and not even then) tend to have that relationship of murder murder stab stab and even Archaon when the Great Horned Rat tried to give him a blessing spat in his face (literally).

Regardless, Beastmen don't really seem to be on AoS's radar so far, if odd your so hostile to AoS and still want to play it, glad your giving it somewhat of a try at least.

I am trying to be positive lol But to say I am stubborn in my ways is a understatement

I am just still a little ripe with my tombkings and empire armies ..... so grumpy lol. I just keep thinking I buy beastmen then boom they are gone again or remade so badly that they are pointless like my orcs which have savage orks mixed into them. But on the plus with spider goblins getting a subsect I am hoping the night goblins get a book with more squigs.

I am hoping to have a beasment/ironjawz armies and hope nothing too much will change.

Heck you could do a fluffy narrative army with say beastmen and ironjaws together like say the orruks are impressed with the killyness of this 'ere goat man, and decide to join up with his war and for some right fun!!! just a thought.

Also far as I know you can still use your tomb kings, they do have points and are still in the app with their scrolls online too I believe, so nothing stopping you from using them applies to your empire peeps too!

Wait then. If you're concerned about beastmen getting the tomb king treatment then I'd wait. They may get the beastclaw treatment with new scrolls is all but odds are a bit of a reboot is in order. Play your empire and tomb kings until they release an army you can really get excited about.

You didn't really ask about them, but word is "Steamhead Duardian" - aka the shooty, techier part of Dwarfs - are up very soon, at the least for a battletome, if not also new models. Should be very different from Fyreslayers, who I agree are a bit bleh, between very expensive 'meh' models (IMO) and a bit lackluster rules.

As for Beasts, who knows! I don't think they're going away, but I also don't think they're necessarily up soon, though Beastclaws shows what can be done to Age of Sigmarize an old faction with relatively little investment on GW's part ...

There's not even a hint of beastmen getting an update on anyone's radar right now, so I'd suggest they're a safe bet in the short term.
When they do get an update, it'll go one of two ways - either same models + battletome with maybe a new clampack or something (nb. as Brayherds and Warherds have been defined as separate factions, they are unlikely to be in the same book). It'd also likely keep to GWs more recent updating of models by having different build options as discrete units (Flesheater courts / Bonesplittaz).
(NB. One to watch - my mate who is a Dwarf obsessive has spotted you can make a full unit of models armed with pistols from the Thunderer box, so when BT: Dispossessed arrives he reckons that'll be a unit.)

If they get a "proper" AoS update, it'll likely follow the trend of key theme turned up to 11, so I'd expect new minis that are more feral/bestial, packs of beasts... like hairy Tyranids, I guess.

I think Beastmen are safe. I was thinking about doing them as well, as I always like their aesthetic, but Death has my attention first.

On a side note, I too, kind of wish Beastmen were Destruction aligned. Yes, I understand in the Old World they were very much Chaos affiliated, but I think they could have taken the whole feral thing to another level and had them pal around with Gorkamorka etc. Chaos is so bloated, always has been, but it is more obvious now with units being deleted from different factions.

Beastmen could be destruction but in the old world they were mutated humans. Mutated by warpstone and chaos. It seems more fitting with that fluff to have them in chaos vs destruction but I can see the argument for either

I think, if you like the models then go for it. I am doing the same for Bretonnians and Tomb Kings ( for WHFB ) althought they are harder to find.

Well, nobody expected the Savage orcs to be updated to Bonesplitterz, so who knows... There are rumors about a book with alegiance traits for all factions without them, so the Brayherds (thats what the're called now) will definitly get some edge sooner or later.

Actually it was kind of expected, they were split into a different faction from the rest and all.The only time it's really unexpected is if they suddenly add a new group that hasn't been named previously.
