Alright I have 2 lists for an ITC tournement next Saturday. I have to choose one of these two lists as I have to paint it up by then.
Alright so here's list 1, battle group hammer blow:
Here's the second list of CAD/knight/assassin

I'd go with list 2 personally as if you swap the vindicare for a culexus (or whatever the anti pysker one is) you get some ability to deal with pyskers, wyverns are always great and I personally prefer the knight over the baneblade My only other issue is pask that is a lot of points for 1 anti tank shot and 1 battle cannon. For an ITC event pask in a punisher with an exterminator buddy has never let me down

For ITC I like list 2 as well. But would drop pask. Too many of the popular armies kill him easily. He is more safe with the vanquished, but less effective

I haven't gotten to really look at ITC missions but how are they played. And list two is what I was leaning towards as the knight can really help with Melee.

the most AV you will see in ITC are knights and rhinos. Pask can deal with rhinos with his punisher. but his 1 slug wont do as much as you might think. if you are going to run him run the punisher. and if you are worried about armour you can switch from the BC to the Thermal Cannon knight.
but 2nd list is better as the bainblade will be destroyed long before it makes its points.

My only issue is I don't have a punisher at the moment to swap him for. I will certainly try to get it up in time but I'm trying to get the rest of the army all caught up with the painting.
I could see the knight making its points back as it can wreck things in Melee but is the baneblade really that bad? It's got a pretty nice main gun as well as all of the other weapons it has. Not to mention they will all be twinlinked if they fire at an enemy target that is within 12" of a friendly model from the formation.

Yea the bainblade "in most meta" is way over costed. look what a knight archon can do for less points, or a tau (giant thing) for a chunk less. there are a lot of "other" option people take for less that do so much more. dont get me wrong the bainblade is impressive, but it just falls short. with all but invincible character running around and first turn assaults it just isnt worth it. capt smash is a great example with 2+ 3++ 4+++ and rerollable if a conclave is with him i think that FNP can be a 3+ if they try. the and the conclave and him are only about 150 pts more then a bainblade and will more then make their points unless a knight punks him.

Makes sense! So now that I'm sold on list 2, what changes?!?!
I've already taken pask punisher into consideration and will see if I can get another Russ up in time.
People suggested swap the vindicare assassin for culexus. Would that be a reasonable swap??? I've had good use with the vindicare sniping warlords out of squads and popping necron vehicles to great extent. I really enjoy using him for dealing with jinking skimmers and units hiding in cover. What's people's opinions?
Any other suggestions?

well your problem with the culexus is he has no real good way of getting into effective range of shutting down powers without a transport. He can infiltrate however so give it a try infiltrating him i drop him in a pod in my list.
So without a pod.. not sure if you want to go for him imho. If you have had success maybe the vindi works
I would dump the Hydra. 1X Hydras really doesn't do much for you in the anti air dept. If you swap to the punisher you can glance most skimmers and flyers out of the sky. I would go with a stong 3x wyvern battery or the Emperors wrath atillary battery that i hear a lot of people crowing about.
I run 3 Wyverns and love them.
Pask needs a punisher as well.

I agree with zedsdead on a few points. If you're going to take Hydras, two can be effective and three is optimal. I run Pask in a Punisher with an Exterminator buddy and they're more than equipped to glance down flyers. I run three Wyverns in every list; I'm actually considering running 6 in a 2,000pt list. The Emperor's Wrath Artillery Battery does live up to the hype it's getting, although I'm yet to run it beyond Wyverns and Basilisks - the ignores cover order if Hydra's are fielded could potentially be devastating against junk reliant flyers.
Depending on if the FAQ drafts are followed, this takes away the option of putting the Culexus in a transport at the start of the game. I've found that infiltrating alone can be effective, even if it works as a deterrent in restricting the movement of enemy psykers.

I would take another wyvern but I've only got 2 so I am restricted there.
As for the hydra I do have a second one if it would really be beneficial. I just added to potentially threaten the enemy flyers. Against high AV they aren't really anything great but on a couple occasions they added wounds to a flyrant or some other light armored flyer. Automatically Appended Next Post: Another thought I have is the battle tank with pask has been doing alright with him. But would I find it more beneficial to put an eradicator with him with heavybolter sponsons all around or even plasma cannons? This way they make use of that split fire order.

Played another practice game against a farsight list today I dominated the first half and then spread thin and got the advantage that non of his deepstriking suits came in turn 2 which was 3 units. So when they came in turn 3 they really chewed me up. By the end I lost just about ever model but ended up winning because I claimed so many points early in the game.
The battle tank really didn't do much which I was hoping he would. I may consider the last minute change to an eradicator with heavy bolters all around.
The snipe assassin wrecked havoc on the tau. Picked up his commander. Ended a broadside and picked off a lone stealth suit that remained from a broken squad. The culexus didn't fare so well obviously because there wasn't any psykers but he still soaked up a lot of shots.
Would it really be beneficial to go with the 3rd wyvern? Or go with 2 and keep 1 hydra???
