Lots of good info from the stream and commentators, such as:

"The points will change every year. That's why they're not on warscrolls"... "It is easier to update one book instead of all the warscrolls"

Not bad info otherwise, would've preferred it to be easily updatable on the site but this is still far more preferable then having to buy a new codex for each army a year.

Today's broadcast is over. It was awesome. The first game - Fyreslayers vs Bloodbound was double-plus-good.

Is there a way to rewatch it all if we missed it?

Yah, everything was really cool. Imo, the only thing they need to sort out is different camera angles so we could see those lovely painted miniatures and dice rolls. That would be taken via hd camera, not blurry mobile one

Very cool. Interesting to see, at least in the first battle, that one player lined up his troops in a way that almost looked like he was playing WFB.

Actually people have discovered on grand alliance community forum that using real life formations actually benefit certain armies. Like setting up stormcast liberator's in a wedge formation is actually to your advantage.

With absolutely no spite I want to tell you that the discovery of these "formations" mirrors the "discovery of the V, U and inverted T formations roughly an year ago, which, with the exception of the wedge formation, are painful to look at... No one, to my knowledge, has come up with a uniform, repeatable, strong advantage that would make use of different formations over a more unsorted blobs. Unit positioning is fine and well, but all this formation thing is just wishful thinking. All that matters is whether you want to spread your troops to cover ground or keep them compact for better maneuvering. I've watched the entire event (and will watch it again), but with the exception of the fyreslayer line I've not seen even one example of actual real life formation usage among the players. We can talk all day long about inverted R's, double W's and 30 degree shifted F's, but IMO it would just look stupid on the table and the game wasn't built with this in mind...

Well I don't really use them in my games but I think it's an interesting discussion.

I've just started watching the second day's events and I have to say, I do like the commentators. They don't get on your nerves and they seem knowledgeable about the game.

If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me! Believe in the Dakka who believes in you!

Yeah they are great.

I like how we got enough viewers to make him shout waaaagh! The Duncan love was awesome as well.

Rob was the winner of last year's SCGT and won the Alliance tournament a few weeks ago, so yeah, very knowledgable :-)

The coverage has been great. I've only water bits and bobs but it has all been good. Really nice to see the familiar faces from the independent scene getting interviewed here.

I would have liked to have gone, but I need to build a stronger army unless I want to come last :p

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)
