I've been in 40k for many years now and was thinking that it's about time to start a new army. Currently I'm a student so my cash is limited, but I live with very limited internet and no television so basicly a new army 40k gives me something to do. I like to have a creative past time when I'm not studying. I look for Dakkadakka for guidence on which of the following projects seems like the most fun.

My restriction is simply money. I've had 4 ideas so far. Up untill now I've only been collecting Imperium armies (Guard, old school Inquisition, vanilla SM) so I was thinking of breaking some new grounds.

Idea 1: Orcs. I've always liked playing against orcs and figured they might be fun to play. Looking over the list two things in particular has stod out to me. First is a a squig list with some 3-4 squigoths and one giant squigoth accompanied by some footsloggers. The problem with this list would be the price of the FW squigoths but maybe I could find and convert some old lizardmen dinosaurs and a mumakil or something.
Second thing that stod out was the green tide. I like the idea of it and it looks very orcy.

Idea 2: Tau farsight enclave. I always found farsight to be the only special character I'd ever consider basing an army around. Something akin to a bunch of infantry with a bunch of tank support and lots of dropping suits. No riptides or stormsurges mind you. The problem here is that it feels a bit like my current Ig army, minus the drops.

Idea 3: Eldar aspect formation. I always liked the looks of the Eldar and the idea of doing a lore heavy army with a unit from every aspect shrine appeals to me and looks like a ton of fun to paint.

Idea 4: deathwatch. This would mean another imperial army but with the release of deathwatch I find myself intruiged to make a Inquisition+deathwatch list, focussing heavily on Inquisition units with the deathwatch acting as deep strike/reserves. I feel like the conversion potential here is huge and it might make a very nicely themed army.

So reading this from the outside perspective what seems the most doable cash wise and what would you like to face the most? I always look into building armies that are fun to play/face and I like to have potential charges and close fighting as an option.

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

If your short on cash I would go either deathwatch or Orks; Deathwatch because they tend to be small armies with few models, but that means less to paint if your into that (although they are more detailed...); and Orks because their bigger models you can quite easily scratch build with spare parts, you can have quite a bit of fun messing around with a scratch build.

If you go with Farsight Enclaves the start collecting boxes offer very good value. Two of those and you will have a fairly hefty starting point.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Buy second hands leftovers of a WFB empire army now convert those with everything you have in your bits box. .And you have a great Inquisitor army.

Squiggots are cheap to build -> Just look for the pre forge world GW conversions of them. They are and have always been Dino toys+ plasticard and some scultping putty .

the downside is that their rules suck.

Basically this. They're not that great, but easy to build. Like ork planes.

go with deathwatch, that way you can slow build as the funds come, and you can ally em into your other Imperial armies as you build
