I finished up my Slaughterpriest with HACKBLADE and WRATH-HAMMER today. This is the first 28 mm mini I've painted in years, and I am definitely rusty. Everything is so tiny, the big pics show off every little mistake and sloppy bit, but I'm happy with how he looks in hand. This was also my first time trying to paint a darker skin tone, and I think it worked, but the highlight color stands out maybe a little too much.

Great effort for a few years out. I recently got back into the hobby too, probably at the same time as you judging by the miniature.

You've inspired me to try painting that miniature.

I think you nailed the whole piece, especially the darker skin tone. Don't see it often and yours looks really great!

The skintone is great, and overall it's quite Frazetta-ish. Love it.

Only criticism would be the blood on the blade... It could stand to be a touch darker, and have a gloss varnish or a red glaze over it to 'blood' it up a bit.

Thanks! I don't want to go over the blood with more because it'd be easy to end up with too much, but I can totally gloss it up a little. I used a mix with some Future when I applied it, but it ended up drying matte.
