I'm very torn between IF and AL right now. The +1 BS is a fantastic little buff and considering I'll mostly be up against iron hands and their -1 S to incoming fire it may help offset the loss of damage, However, I'm short on cash at the moment and don't have any transports currently which they'll need to get past my opponent's mortar. On the other side of things, AL can all infiltrate, negating my need for transports. I can take ammunition better at puncturing power armor to try to cut down on marines early. A saboteur can be used to try to do some damage to a tank or other vehicle before hitting it with a melta. Plus, I'm alpharius. Anyway, just curious what your guys opinions are or any tips about list building for either.

I think in the long run you're going to want transports for AL anyway so that you can pick other Mutable Tactics than infiltrate and so you can get access to the benefits of Coils.

On the other hand Alpha Legion is going to be infinitely easier to paint than all that yellow. Plus hydras are cooler than fists as far as iconography goes.

I'm biased since I'm an Alpha myself, but I say go AL.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

I agree that the flexibility is probably worth having, but the idea of infiltrating my entire force right up to his front line, maybe even using a fury of the legion attack with AL special ammunition to try to cut down as many people as I can turn one sounds kind of awesome.

Fists are rock solid with some terrifying characters in the ranks and THSS teleporting termies.

Disagree completely on the painting thing. Fists are easy. Been trying for years to get the AL scheme somewhere I like.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Yeah, concur. Plenty of yellow base sprays out there, plenty of solid yellow pigment paints available.

Good alpha legion shifting colors are far more difficult to pull off.

Just spray-varnish Alfalfa sprouts, or dip them in glue or plastic or something so they stay rigid, then glue them to a base.

Voila, alfalfa legion.

Alphas are more flexible and more trolltastic. Also they have some of the coolset gear available, like AP3 Bolter rounds and HoW-inducing grenades. Plus Alpharius is trippy. Go Alpha, I'd say.

Yeah, but once you find one you like (didn't take me long) its a damn lot easier to paint than IF
I say Alpha Legion but I'm biased
