These are the lists I want to use as a development of a mechanicum army using legio cybernetica, from my first few models to a standard list that I will bring to most games. The 1k list will probably only really see use in 40k games, until I have the models to play more standard 30k sized games.

1k AoD FOC

Heavy Support
- Thanatar Class Siege-Automata Maniple - 265

Any advice or suggestions on these lists would be great. The only things I really want to keep are Thanatar, Anacharis Scoria, and the fact that it is Legio Cybernetica.

Erm....
The 2k and 3k lists don´t look like Cybernetica in any way....

30k: Taghmata Omnissiah(5,5k)
Ordo Reductor(4,5k)
Legio Cybernetica(WIP)

40k(Inactive): Adeptus Mechanicus(2,5k)

WFB(Inactive): Nippon, Skaven

I agree with Ankhalagon. No thralls? No vorax?! No domitars?!!

I don't know if you've considered them yet, but the Thanatar-Cynis is worth a look; they're slightly more unstable than the standard thanatar due to 'gets hot!' and shorter range, but it feels right putting one up front and smashing it into whatever comes close.
Prime candidate for 'paragon of metal' upgrayedd i recon.

The Ordo Reductor - the guy's who make wonderful things like the Landraider Achillies, but can't use them in battle..

I don't like vorax, mainly because I really hate their models. I had considered some artalax, but they don't have any models yet. What's your opinion on the artalax, and what would you suggest using for them? I'm open to some simple conversion but I don't have the ability to do anything too major.

I also don't really like the thralls because they're pretty much human and I want to play mechanicum for robots and cyborgs.

Well, you only get access to the FA and the Elite-slot when you first put a unit Automata in that slots....
Arlatax are pretty fast assault-automata. Jumppack, 3 decent guns and a pair of scary lightning claws. Basicly half Domitar/Castellax, half Ursarax.
I converted one out of a Kastellan Robot, but could not test it yet.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-102111-50672_30k-Mechanicum.html
I used a Robot, a sensormodule of a LR-sponson, smooth tyranid-claws, a CSM-Smokelauncher, Parts of an Infernocannon-fueltank, parts of a Plasmagun, a exhaust of an Inferno-missilelauncher and 2 of the Phosphorplaster of the robot-kit as well as a pair of Autocannon-magazines and other bitz.
It is relative easy.

Thallax are a little expensive as opjective-grabbers and Automata can´t do that. So the cheapest and best way to do that are Adsecularii with RopT. Or you just kill anything and everything. But that may be difficult.

By the way: You don´t need to play the Cybernetica Battlecohort to field Automata. You can play a Taghmata and put some of them in. You don´t have the benefits then and no access to the Archmagos Dominus though. And the Castellax are non-compulsary too.

Yeah, I know. But the thing that swayed me when I was trying to decide what 30k army to do was the robots and Legio Cybernetica seems like the best way to use them.

Yes, basicly it is, but as the OR-List it has drawbacks.
And that are that you may need scoring units and decend AA is tricky. As well as all is expensive and normaly the army is quite small.....

Maybe i can sway you on the thralls with a bit of their fluff? They are basically the corpses from the last battle that only suffered head injuries - slap a computer interface on the remaining brain stem and off you go; cheap cyborgs!
But if you don't like them, you don't like them.

The Arlatax sound really good! They aren't the distraction carnifex that the thanatar can be, but i'll definitely be getting at least two because they can keep up with thallax - they can even deepstrike like thallax!
I see them as an anti-infantry unit; the plasma blaster, the inbuilt cannons and the CC capabilities are very useful.
If this thing is in CC with terminators, they really need to get their hits in before initiative step 4!
In a hypothetical situation of a unit of five normal terminators (175pts) against one, i think the Arlatax could do quite well and especially so if theres some shooting before CC - both units ignore the arnour saves in CC, but the arlatax has a plasma blaster to potentially remove a dude before charges are even made.

The fluff of the arlatax (it's red border column of it's entry in book 6) says that it's design influenced the design of the domitar so that could be a source for a model to convert.
A friend tells me that they are really reasonably priced for what they are from forgerworld.. i mean forgeworld.

If the human like model itself is the problem, you could look into some human sized robots from other companies to sub in.

I don't like the Adsec models from FW (which are about the only heresy model I don't like) so I substituted the cyber-zombies from Raging Heros. It was also a more inexpensive option until the drop in GBP vs. USD, and FW lowering the cost on the Adsec.

There are also Anvil Industries "not terminators" which I also considered and would fit in well, especially with some head swaps from Ad Mech Sicaran Infiltrators.
