Considering making a Tau vs. Nurgle board for Armies on Parade (have quite a few Tau models already painted and am painting some Nurgle now), but I don't know enough about the background fluff of either army. If the Tau noticed a Chaos infested planet, would they, for the greater good, go out of their way to wipe out chaos? Or would they just avoid the Chaos army and move on to another planet?

Thanks in advance

Outer Space, Apparently

They'd attack it if it stood in the way of their expansion and they had the firepower necessary to make a ground assault; Tau contact with the Ruinous Powers and their servants has been fairly minimal, but they've met them enough to understand that they cannot be brought under the fold of the Greater Good, and will deal with them accordingly.

They don't really understand what Chaos is, but they have fought Chaos cultists before. If it's a planet they want, then yeah they'll attack.

I'd love to see a board of tau doing cleanup after nurgle had a hold on that world lol. After all, unlike the imperium, tau wouldn't just put the planet to the torch. Picturing some tau mooks cleaning the muck with a broom

The muck would eat the workers or some crazyness.

Its not even muck, its corrupt chaos muck.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

Chaos cultists should "accept" the Greater Good and by brought into the Empire.
Thus, they would be able to corrupt others gue'la / nicassars etc..

that does bring up an intreasting point, one would think chaos cults popping up on Tau controled human worlds would ahve SOME sort of chance of happening. be an intreasting story

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

The tau aren't pacifist or stupid. They have a list of people they kill on sight. Chaos is on the list. I find that a little less fun though, so you have my blessing to ignore it.

(Be'gel = ork, Mont’au’gue’l = Human cultists, Var Sin'da = Dark eldar, Y'he= Tyranid)

They may have realized the threat that Chaos represents to other client-races of the Tau Empire through Human gue'vesa or similar converts. While the Tau species is resistant to Chaos, that doesn't mean the same is true of Nicassar or Vespid.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Chaos groups could feasibly make deals with the Tau. I mean most human chaos forces seem to be xenophobic but in extremis it could happen.
