Summary:
I paid mmorris0987 (Mike Morris) $325 on 9/6/2016 for a Dark Eldar army. Unfortunately, I used the Paypal mobile app to process the payment, which defaults to friends and family. I didn't notice this until after things went south. After initial communication and delays in shipping, Mike went dark. He ended up replying on 9/15 that he was in a car wreck and then has not replied to anything else. I suspect that either the car wreck did not happen or was not serious (as he is back to work as of yesterday at the latest, when I phoned).

I have since attempted contact through FB (friend request deleted, message unread), phone (messages left, not responded to) and here. I have escalated my dispute through paypal (both phone and online), but have so far not received a refund. I have a fair chunk of his personal information that I've dug up, if the mods need it for any reason. If the transaction report doesn't work, I will continue to attempt to contact through other methods until I find resolution.

The best way to resolve this with Paypal is over the phone, if you haven't called already.

As has been said in the OP, I have contacted Paypal and escalated. The refund has not been processed yet. This has included phone calls and e-mail to Paypal. I've always heard that phone is the best way, but I was much less successful over the phone than I was over e-mail.

edit: I have edited the OP to show that I have called and e-mailed Paypal.

Keep us updated. I did remove his email address, just to be safe. For others, as pretre said, please do not post if you do not have pertinent info. prerte is a prolific trader, I'm sure he knows how paypal works, etc.

Whoops, sorry about that. I missed it. Amusingly enough, that e-mail is not actually a valid e-mail anymore (I did try e-mailing him), although it is still a valid Paypal account.

Hopefully this counts as contribution; likely if it counts as a paypal email but not valid, there is a good chance he has blocked your messages there, or sent them to his spam folder. Both are easily done. You might be able to still reach him on that email with an alternate email account, if you haven't tried already. However, if he has blocked your email anyway, then reaching out with an alternate will have next to zero results, except proof that he is avoiding making good on your transaction. Good luck!

No, this is a legit bounce from fullsail.edu. His e-mail no longer exists on the server. I imagine he is no longer a student.

He was trying to conduct a trade with me on the 12th and 13th, so I don't know how badly that wreck affected him.

I would strongly caution anyone else from dealing with this user in the future. This issue was resolved without his assistance, basically.
