Hello,

My friend gifted me a lot of models because he was moving to another country, so I started playing Warhammer 40K. I did only a few matches around 500-750, but I decided to join my first tournament next week for 1250 points. It has a rule of unique unit and detachment (except troops) and also bans multiple formation detachments, like decurion.

So with my few knowledge and research, i made a list for exact 1250 points. I don’t have any named characters, triarchs and lychguards unfortunately. I would really be glad for any feedbacks.

CAD (880 points)

Catacomb Command Barge w/ Phylactery, Warscythe
Warriors x10
Warriors x10
Immortals x10 w/ Gauss Blaster
Annihilation Barge w/ Gauss Cannon
Doom Scythe

Canoptek Harvest Formation (370 points)
Canoptek Spyder w/ Fabricator Claw Array
Canoptek Scarabs x5
Canoptek Wraiths x5 w/ Whip Coils

Not bad at all. That is the only good use for a Phylactery since it can repair the CCB

Keeping the Spyder near the other barges to repair it is not a bad idea either.

Doom Scythes are usually not a good unit to take, but in a low point game it is harder for them to shoot down.

Catacomb Command Barges aren't amazing and I would consider replacing it with a regular Overlord. That said, if you want to run one the Overlord needs a Phase Shifter to absorb the Lascannons and Melta weapons of the world.

Annihilation Barges are pretty underwhelming, Their main drawback is a very short 24" range and they're not fast, so you can only move 6" per turn if you want to get anything out of Tesla Destructor.

I would make that Doom Scythe into a Night Scythe to move the Immortals around.

Anni barges are uuuuuuuuseless. I have ran than many times and been extremely disappointed with their performance. I love my CCB, it is nice being able to allocate shots on to either the barge or lord.

A doomsday ark puts out alot more damage, sitting a sypder with it as far away from everything means it might be able to do what it wants with impunity. It will either draw a lot of fire and die, meaning your other stuff is safer, or survives and does a lot of damage.

Thank you for your valuable comments.
As i read from somewhere before, doomsday arks are too fragile for price and now you are saying anni barges are also bad, i am a bit confused what to do
Do you suggest monoliths or destroyers? I also have flayed ones, deathmarks and a c'tan shard deceiver.

They're both bad. I ran an Annihilation Nexus once (2x Barges, 1x Doomsday). Never again. The Doomsday is way too expensive for what it does and open-topped makes it pretty easy to take down. The Monolith is also too expensive for what it does. In general, Necron vehicles are pretty poor, except for the Night Scythe and maybe the Obelisk. Our strength is in our infantry.

Destroyers are a solid unit made even better in a Destroyer Cult. Deathmarks are very high-risk high-reward. Sometimes they come down and completely wreck face and other times they do nothing. Deathmarks are a fun unit to play with and I love their fluff, so I would try them out. I think Flayed Ones are overlooked. Infiltrate, WS4, S4, 4 base attacks and shred for the same cost and durability as a Warrior. Sign me up! I don't have any, so have never played with them, but they sound pretty solid to me.
