Thinks Palladium books screwed the pooch on the Robotech project.

My secret fortress at the base of the volcano!

I've had the series on DVD for years, along with the original Japanese series that became Southern Cross and New Generation. Passed up the opportunity to get the DVD release of Macross, and now I kick myself for that every time I hit up the dealer's room at an anime convention.

Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)

It is there now. Curiously, it is rated TV-MA this time, and previous it was Y-7? What changed?

TV-MA? What the actual feth? I mean, yeah it's way too violent for a Y-7, but TV-MA is just absurd.

It's probably because it's the remastered version of Robotech with the Minmei shower scene and Marlene/Ariel nudity restored.

Nice. Been watching the original season on Amazon to get charged up for some RRT mini-painting.

Too many great streaming services, too many great miniatures, too little time.

I read a novelization when I was a kid but I regret to say I've never seen Robototech. Sounds like that's gonna change pretty soon.

There was an old Battletech cartoon that was one of the early shows to try and mix CGI and traditional animation.

It was terrible, IIRC.

And yet still less horrible than the horrible animated soap opera that was Robotech.

No it was more Horrible then Robotech was, Robotech was one of the best Animations out at the time, unlike many of the 30 minute commercials we saw in the 80's.

Turns out, I cannot watch this show. I bet it would have been amazing if I had caught it when I was a teenager though.

Offends the senses too much?

I found it here in Canada.
It is slightly less insipid than what my youngest son is watching for Minecraft You-tuber videos or Pokémon.
My kids took interest, I think I will see what they think after a few episodes in.

No - MACROSS was one of the better animations out there.
ROBOTECH was a bas*tardised mashup of three separate and unrelated stories jammed together into a sales package for syndication. With a soap-opera storyline and unlikeable character voiceovers (covering pretty much every psychosis and neurosis).
