It might be a case of professional pride. The Eldar are very much Jes Goodwin's baby and (possibly like the Sisters) he does not want to replace the aspects unless the plastics are better.
And then we don't know how the aspects sell. Perhaps (like the Sisters) they are too marginal to justify the work of creating plastics, even if that might increase sales down the road.
I'd wager a combination of the two. I mean truly marginal units like Ogryn have gotten plastic kits, so there's no reason Aspects can't at least be as popular as Ogryn. But the challenge of besting their designs means they keep getting pushed off.
morgoth wrote: A dual kit with banshees makes no sense at all, they're a girl only club, whereas no other aspect has this dimension.
That's assuming they don't redesign that aspect of bansheesh completely and make it mixed gender aspect. Yeah against original fluff but GW can do whatever they wish so if they deem it good...
But yeah aspects are tough to do on dual-kits unless you want to redesign style dramatically which adds to the problem.
I love the Hawks and Spiders, excellent conversions there, your Scorpions look like really good stand ins for Incubi though.
Thanks. The Scorpions have an Incubi vibe on purpose. The fluff for my melee Aspect warriors is that they were once captured by Dark Eldar. Banshees were made to fight in the Wych arenas and Scorpions are made to fight in Incubus initiation rituals. The Aspects that do not get killed in this way eventually earned freedom of sorts, though they can never rejoin Craftworld society, as their time in the Dark City has made it impossible to remove their Warmask.
Therefore they are enlisted as mercenaries for Corsairs.

And if they make duel kits, and half the bodies are ladies, it’s a simple matter of just buying two boxes, and using all the female torsos to make the banshees. It’s not the the other half would be wasted, just used to make an all male squad of whatever the other half of the duel kit is.
Is there any problem that can’t be solved with just buying more GW products?

It is entirely possible that all Banshees wear breast-plated armour, even if they are male. Since "banshees" are wailing spirits almost always depicted as female, it may indeed be part of the armour in the same way that the extra arms for Spiders or skull faces for Reapers

It makes as much sense as female torsoed space marines.
You do know that there's no fluff about the Howling Banshees being a strictly female Aspect, yeah?
In any regards, each Aspect is a stylized ideal of an Eldar myth taken up by an Eldar on the Path of the Warrior.
Correct - IIRC its sometimes referred to as predominately female but def not exclusively.
On the other hand the other Aspects are not male only either and definitely should have some female models.

See, the way I think of it:
The 'male' Aspects(Dire Avengers and Dark Reapers are the only two I know of that are based off 'male' Eldar mythological figures) would have armour designed to evoke the Aspect itself, whether it is a male or a female inside just like the Howling Banshees would be made to appear female whether or not it is a male or female inside.

Now the question of the day: is it queer to follow the path of the Banshee if you're a male space-elf, or is being a space-elf queer enough that it makes no difference anymore ?

Are we meaning "queer" in the sense of "strange or weird" or are we meaning "queer" in the sense of "OMG what a queer, he dresses like a girl!"?
In either regards, no. The Path an Eldar follows is the Path they follow. A male in the Howling Banshees is someone who is walking a path of vengeance and bloody ruin.

For instance, in the old 2nd ed. Codex it reads "Howling Banshees are almost always female, for the Banshee is said to be a female spirit".
So, it's close, but not definite.
The full quote (pg. 9, 2nd ed codex) starts with “Unlike most other Aspects the Howling Banshees are almost always female Eldar, for the Banshee is said to be a female spirit”
I think the first bit is relevant, as it points out the the Banshees are the exception to having a preference for gender, and even they are not absolute.
Other relevant quotes on gender
Pg. 8: “The Path of the Warrior calls to most Eldar at some time in their long lives. Both male and female Eldar may take this path, and warriors are as likely to be female as male.” Pg. 23: "Most Howling Banshees are female, although any Warrior Aspect can be male of female"

And I remember reading something along those lines, which may be in 4th Edition codex - probably copy paste

You know this ain't half bad idea.
Though doesn't probably help much in terms of making dual box but allows to make fluff for male banshee without needing to convert male banshee model.
In 3rd ed codex it says "A female aspect, like the banshee of legend"
In the 4th ed codex it says "what these fierce warrior women lack in brute strength they make up for in precision and efficiency"
Putting all the quotes together:
2nd - "almost always female"
3rd - "a female aspect"
4th - "warrior women"
6th - "predominantly female"
7th - "predominantly female"
I would say that while there are some male banshees they would be outnumbered at least 20 to 1 so it wouldn't make sense for GW to make half of them male just to make it a dual kit.
A dual kit of 5 Banshees/Hawks would be really easy: 5 pairs of leaping legs (see DE Wyches/Scourges), 6 Banshee heads (1 exarch), 6 Hawk heads (1 exarch), 5 pistol armes, 5 power swords, 1 exarch sword (for either Hawk or Banshee), 5 pairs of lasblaster arms, 7 torso fronts (5 female, 2 male), 5 torso backs for Banshees, 5 torso backs for Hawks 5 pairs of wings, 1 Exarch pair various exarch weapons
You could easily follow this formula for Reapers/Dragons & Scorpions/Spiders

You could probably get buy with one set of torso backs, if you made the wings fit on right.

The same with the heads, you could just have 5 n 5, with bits to add to any helmet to make an Exarch helm.

Excellent idea
As Galef said, you could condense that down to 5 torso backs with slots in the back which either fit hawk wings or vanes/armour plates for the Banshees. Either that or have the hair from the Banshee helmets mask the rear of the torso a little.
Reapers/Dragons would work nicely as they're both pretty static and heavily armoured. All you'd need for that is different heads and arms (plus exarch bits), as the iconography for each aspect could be built into those bits, leaving the torsos the same.
Scorpions/Spiders would be a great pairing as well as they're both relatively heavily armoured but also dynamic. Same options variation as the Banshee/Hawks kit with different torso accessories.
If you compare those to the variation you get in the Tempestus Scions kit it's actually quite a low variation kit.
In the Scions you get:
5 Legs
5 Front Torsos
5 Rear Torsos
5 Backpacks
5(?) Helmeted Heads
5 Beret Heads
5 Hotshot Lasrifles
1 Hotshot Volleygun
1 Meltagun
1 Plasmagun
1 Flamer
1 Grenade Launcher
1 Standard
1 Kickass Gears of War chainsaw lasgun
1 Laspistol
1 Plasma Pistol
1 Chainsword
1 Power Sword
1 Power Fist
1 Pimp Cane
1 Pimp Coat
1 Med Kit
1 Servo Skull
Loads of little knives
A host of other little bits I've probably forgotten.
Dual-kit plastic Aspect Warriors would be easy! Plus, with the Hawks/Banshees, Dragons/Reapers and Scorpions/Spiders split they wouldn't have a dud box sales-wise as all of them include at least one unit that's pretty competitive
I'm getting all excited now if they do end up making them I can see myself becoming poor very quickly!
