You know, the more I think about, the less I want dual kits. Instead, I want more aspects.

Howling Banshees (melee)/Singing Maidens (ranged)

Striking Scorpions (melee)/Blasting Mantis (ranged)

Stinging Wyverns (melees)/Fire Dragons (ranged)

Soul Gatherers (melee)/Dark Reapers (ranged)

Swooping Hawks (melee)/Soaring Eagles (ranged)

Did I forget any aspects?

That pretty much completely defeats the entire purpose of the Aspect Warrior.

You don't need Howling Banshees with ranged weapons when you have Dire Avengers and Dark Reapers (and to an extent Warp Spiders, Shining Spears, Swooping Hawks, and the new Forgeworld floaty fellas).

I imagine you will see plastic aspect warriors starting this year.

It would be pretty tricky to make dual-aspect warrior kits. Mind you, maybe a shared basic sprue, and then add-ons for the particular aspect in question.

No, it really wouldn't be tricky. We've already listed the combos. There would be 3 sets: Light & Jumpy, Crouchy & sneaky, and Standing tall & Shooty.
The bodies for these combos are almost identical currently and can easily be remodeled as such.
Variant heads, weapon arms & accessories like wings, jump generators etc are all that is needed.

Most dual kits are pretty much this exact thing. Take a look at Necrons for example. Lych guard are rather different from Pretorians, yet they pulled it off, and at a much better price than Dire Avengers

It might shift their role, but shouldn't defeat their purpose - for ex:

Howling Banshees/Singing Maidens - role is to disrupt units for others to attack (via wailing masks, weapons that inflict a penalty to WS/BS)

Striking Scorpions/Blasting Mantis - Assassinate enemy character models and disrupt morale

Soul Collectors/Dark Reapers - mass infantry destruction

Stinging Wyverns/Fire Dragons - destroy vehicles/hardened targets

Swooping Hawks/Soaring Eagles - objective takers/stealers

Spirit Foxes/Warp Spiders - hit and run attacks

No longer would their role be tied to melee/ranged, but to what goal they accomplish (which I think was their oringinal intent anyways)

That feels like making a load of new units because you just want new things. There's no point to them.

The problem I am foreseeing here is the tyrant guard/hive guard issue. The plastic dual kit is a complete dog, by trying to combine two fairly different models they have simply made two sets of very expensive very ugly models. Neither plastic sculpt is dynamic or likeable they're both clunky, out of proportion and poorly designed. The same is true to a lesser extent of the zooanthrope/venimthrope box. None of these plastics look as good as the preceeding metal/finecost versions (except arguably tyrant guard metal/finecost was a bit of a blob).

They will face the same trying to dual kit the aspects. Because all of them have a fairly different base armour, stance and equipment you would end up with uncomfortable compromises that leave you with no distinct units but some pretty generic Eldar with some different equipment. Head would be ok but bodies and stances would be a major issue. Don't see any similar enough to make a dual kit of real quality possible.

Actually, the existing aspects are mostly static and almost identical in armor.

I really don't think it will be an issue, and the improvement in dynamic poses will definitely make up for any other minor loss.

That said, I don't really care whether the kit is dual or not, I think they know how many will sell, which is a true fuckton.

I will very likely buy at least one box of each if they re-release them and I'm sure there are many Eldar collectors who will do exactly that.

Yep I've said multiple times that I'd happily bankrupt myself paying for plastic aspects at least one squad of each, plus a whole host more for kitbashed exodites and corsairs

Oh, and dual-kit Guardian Defenders/Stormies with dynamic legs while you're at it!
