There are contemptors for less than $30 on ebay. They're cool, fluffy and effective. Same goes for heavy weapon squads (particularly 10 man missile launchers). Cheap, fluffy, effective.

If you're starting Imperial fists, don't bother with Prospero unless you want to go TS, Wolves, or Custodes.
IMO, at this point, the cheapest route would be:
B@C, + both legion red books
OR
wait 'till the leaked next box set drops, and get that one (has custodes, and MK III armour, both of which fit Imperial fist fluff amazingly well)
|
I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field. |

I'm having prospero bought for me. I'm selling the space wolves guy to a friend after he's painted and I'm keeping the sorcerer

OH! I thought you were getting the book that was about prospero (do we have a name for the new HH box yet, or is prospero just what people are using as a stand in?) And the models in the box are generic minus 1 character for each side, so I've been lead to believe. But I think my point still stands: BAC if you like MK IV, and the new one if you like MK III.

So, if you're getting both box sets, you're gonna have a good amount of troops, both Tartaros and Cataphractii terminators, some Custodes, plenty of Characters and a Contemptor.
I'd get some third party boarding shields. That way you could convert the MK3 guys into Breachers (very fluffy for Imperial Fists) and keep the MK4 as Tacticals / Support squads.
Looks like the majority of the cash should be on vechicles, particularly transport vehicles since you have lots of units that need to get close.. Maybe regular plastic ones to save cash (also, can be found cheap on eBay). Land Raiders or Drop Pods to transport your Terminators. Rhinos for Breachers or Support squads.
If you really want Tanks, Vindicators seem very Fists to me. If you wanted something big, Baneblade or Shadowsword kits can be found for £50 on eBay.
