I got a Knight Warden, because they're cool. And as soon as I finish magnetizing every possible configuration of the Stormwolf/Stormfang flyer I also bought because why not, I'm going to get started on the Knight.

Now to decide what do with said Knight. I've already talked myself into buying the wolf head conversion from the (Iron Werewolf), but I think I'm going to pass on the "Ice Cannon" because the two pieces combined cost almost as much as the whole damn Knight.

Anyway, on to paint schemes! I dunno if I like the idea of going full on Space Wolf with the colors. I'm thinking more 'allied Knight House' than 'Space Wolf Knight'. For the shoulders, I plan on going with Wolf Guard-ish markings on one, and possibly Egil Ironwolf's company insignia on the other, or perhaps attach the Knight to Grimnar's company.

I'll probably go with Grimnar since I haven't even gotten around to bashing Egil together yet.

So, any suggestions on what color scheme would be complementary to a Space Wolf Army? I thought of using House Cadmus colors, since they also have a bit of a grudge against the Thousand Sons, but I don't like the green/yellow combo. All I can think of now is going with a predominantly red scheme with bronze trim, or white with an ice blue trim.

Thoughts?

Maybe the preheresy space wolf theme as a kind of nice throwback while looking different?

I did mine dark red (Mephiston red with a full wash of Agrax) with bronze (Balthazar gold) trim. The shoulder and lower leg armor are split, half with knight insignia, half white marble with either imperial eagle or SW heraldry.
Instead of the normal knight shield, I used a Wulfen shield. The front right shoulder armour and left knee arein a black/grey pattern similiar to the SW pack markings. I tried black/yellow like Wolfguard first, but it looked stupid.

I like this idea, especially since I've been planning on using the BoC figures to add some pre-heresy Wolves to my army, and I prefer the pre-heresy steel gray to the blue gray of the current SW colors.

Hmm, could you share some pics of your work? I'd like to see how it turned out.
