G'day,

So I have signed up for an escalation tourney (60/90/120/150) and am going to use scum. This will be my first such tourney using scum since wave 6 came out and am having a difficult time actually writing a decent list. Due to the nature of the tourney getting large based ships is pretty hard and scums small ones are mostly poor.
I have a pretty complete collection and am only missing IG2000s but have multiples of nearly everything else. Pretty certain I will use a party bus and Fenn Rau but any thing else is currently up in the air. Have toyed with Ndru, Palob, Talon bane and loads of bugzappers/BMST Zs. But nothing seems to really click.

Would appreciate any advice.

For Bossk my favorite build is the following:

Bossk (35)
- Marksmanship (3)
- Tactician (2)
- Gunner (5)
- Engine Upgrade (4)
Total 49 points

Its bare bones there is still another crew you could add such as K4 or Dengar.

Whats great about this build is that with marksmanship it usable on the entire 180 firing arc, making it a benefit over manger cannon, also the marksmanship works great with gunner. And finally tactician and gunner makes for a nasty combo, but even better! is Bossks pilot ability... for the aces or other ships that could modify their defense dice to cancel your first attack then they would have to take your second attack. This means they can either take 2 stress and potential damage or take a crit (turn into 2 damage) and a stress.... both options suck!

If you used K4 you could also get cluster missles, with marksmanship makes it good, that could be up to 8 damage from bossk in one attack...

I personally would take the full use 180 degree arc over PS9 any day, thats why I never really use mangler on bossk, also for the cluster missles you have to use the primary arc and range 1-2. There was one game where i just couldn't get into position to fire the missles off waist of 4 points...

Also with using Zuckuss and 4-LOM good luck keeping enemy ships in your primary firing arc....

Bossk is very fragile in that 60 point list. I think you'd be better off going for control over damage output so:

Bossk
VI
Tactician
Dengar (much better than K4)
Engine

Still packs a punch but will last considerably longer.

Don't forget guidance chips on the scout. You're probably better off taking overclocked instead of R4 as well.

I'd prefer raw damage over control with Bossk, so I'm more partial to your typical party bus build.
Tactician is too situational to be effective, so pushing damage with Zuckuss and 4-Lom on board is a much better option, IMHO.
Lasting longer is a moot point since getting behind the YV-666 won't matter for either build.

Why is that a moot point? At PS9 and repositional ability you will clearly take less fire - that's basic x-wing.

I'd strongly recommend taking Dengar over K4. It opens up the YV dial.

Not only that, but it makes your reroll a lot less dependent on stress or anything else.

The k4 is acquire a target lock, rather than a target lock action.

Still, 99% of the time, dengar is better unless:

1) you face a lot of generics (baby blues or crack swarm are the only really common ones)
2) you explicitly need a targrt lock because you're using it to fie missiles. Cluster missiles with marksmanship & bossk hurt.

Thanks, didn't have the text at work. And no, looking at my phone was not an option.

Even if you do face a lot of generics, the fact that you can focus (pun intended) on other actions will pay in the long run.

Many thanks for all the replies, got in a few play tests of this list and came to the conclusion that it is really, really bad.

Going back to the drawing board on this and trying again with a Shaowcaster. The latter part of the list seemed okay but the 666 is a liability in the early games. I played against a 5 TIE/D list, a mix of As and Ks and a few variations of Palp mega aces and only did well against the A/K list and that is not exactly a great result.

I am thinking of using Assaj for the stress control which pairs nicely with the slicer Z and can still do a bit of hurt, is the Titile worth it do you think? I am still undecided.

Vargas- yeah I forgot to write the Chips (keep doing that for 0pt things).

That is my current angle on the Shadowcaster. I think that if you're going "stress/BMST", the title might be optional. The gyros might be better.

My current thought is;
Asajj.
PLT.
K4.
BMST.
Glitter.
Gyros.
Or dropping the Glitter and Gyro and taking EU.
Also swapping Teroch and Rau in the pecking order.
