Can multiple heroes join the same unit?

The greatest weapon is the brain, (no, I don't mean you take it from your head and hit someone with it)

No, only villains can join the same unit.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Now that's not entirely fair. Imperial News makes it clear that all Lord Commissars and Inquisitors are definitely heroes.

[On a related note, there are some great job vacancies just opened up in your nearby Imperial News offices after a fatal industrial accident involving unedited footage where the reporter very sadly accidentally fell down an elevator shaft onto some bolt rounds whilst trying to shave with a chainsword]

And on a more serious note; there are no limits to how many independent characters can be attached to a squad. For that matter, they are all units in and off themselves, so technically they can attach to one another to form a sort of 'meta-squad', if you want to do so.

The only exceptions are the ally rules, the fact that characters can't joint vehicles or monstrous creatures unless they have specific permission to do so (like the Haemonculus Dark Artisan) and that some units specficially forbid anyone else attaching to them (like Imperial Assassins).

This is a rules question and should be posted in the "you make da call" forum. I'll notify the moderators.

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

Well, technically there is a limit - you're limited by the number of points you have to purchase the heroes with. (along with the ally rules and not doing it with models that are always single model units)
