hello there! I'm gubbinz, the hopeless piece of crap that resides on this rock we call earth! YAAAYYY!

Anyways, hey guys! My name is Spencer and I'm trying to get into Warhammer 40,000 ( which is kinda impossible for an impulse buyer like me...). I normally spend time playing the bass guitar where nobody can judge me. That's really all I do. I guess I'll go now! Bye bye!

I'm da biggest, an' tha Baddest!

It is a proven fact that Texan warbosses use 37% more dakka!

Welcome to DakkaDakka Spencer, and the hobby!

I'd just take your purchases slow, and set a few goals. If you're brand new to model hobbies in general, start by buying a single box of models, have some fun painting them, and do a little reading into your next steps. I'd recommend any of the Start Collecting sets, as I just got one and was very pleased with the value. You can also game straight away with them and expand as needed.

Hope that helps - at least you have the advantage of strumming that sweet bass when you take a break from painting/gaming

Happy hunting!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

The right one can save you a fortune.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

There is not this idea.

Welcome! Truly, no one's wallet is ever prepared for this hobby.

Ebay and trades are one answer. I wouldn't have half the tiny guys I have now if I would have had to straight up buy them.

Welcome to Dakka, WarbossGubbinz.

Here's how you exercise financial discipline, as a bass player, in this hobby.

For every box of minis that you buy, you must first learn a Victor Wooten or Jaco Pastorius song.

That ought to help.

As an impulse buyer myself I would not say it's impossible. Just be careful or you'll end up like me, 15 years in the hobby with ten armies and most of it incomplete.

Welcome to Dakka fellow bass player, I impulse bought a Gibson P bass a couple years ago and have been enjoying playing it alone with some Cognac.
