According to the rules, all witchfire powers must roll to hit. However, Psychic Shriek doesn't have a profile, which I understand to have prompted enough debate that the 2015 AdeptiCon had to include in their event rules (Rules Addendum and FAQ) that:

"A Psyker that manifests the Psychic Shriek psychic power must still roll to hit. If the To Hit roll is unsuccessful, the entire attack misses."

My question is twofold:
- Is this a dumb ruling that is ignored by all logical-thinking players?; or
- If this rule isn't crushed under the heel of reason, what the feth do I roll? Again, there's no profile! Is it Assault 1, Assault 6? Small Blast? Does it Ignore Cover?

This was literally answered in the Draft FAQ

He may not be aware of the draft faq, seeing as how it's not referenced in GW's website.

GW has released an faq on their Facebook page. It states that witchfire powers with no shooting profile do not need to roll to hit.

Thanks! I'm really glad the previous [MOD EDIT - Language! Alpharius] was corrected. I'll have to see if I can find the draft FAQ. I think I follow GW on FB, but the drafts don't have very helpful indexing so I have to look through everything whenever I want to find an answer.

I found the errata. It took me a while to delve through the FB page.
