Quick question...
If you can't shoot something you can't see ( unless indirect fire etc) and you can't assault a unit you can't see, should you be able to tank shock a until you can't see?

I think you can.

Unless i'm mistaken Tank shock is a maneuver without an intended target you simply declare the unit perform a tank shock in a direction and how much the model will move ( no need to declare a target) wich should allow to do it.

Shooting and Assault specifically say you aren't allowed to target units you can't see.

Tank Shock does not. So no, your train of logic does not apply to Tank Shock because the rules don't support it.

Doesn't the Tank Shock maneuver have to be in a straight line?

Wouldn't that preclude being able to Tank Shock something out of sight without having the ability to ignore Terrain (ala Skimmer)?

Yes. You pivot on the spot before moving to 'aim' the tank and then move the tank straight forwards.

There are plenty of instances where models can be totally hidden by non-impassable terrain. You can move a non-skimmer in a straight line over difficult or dangerous terrain, so I don't see why you couldn't tank shock over it.

If a unit can't see the tank shock coming then all the better!

Agreed with the above interpretations. Tank shock is part of the movement phase, not the assault or shooting phase. A tank that rams through a wall will tank shock a unit on the other side for example.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.
