Hi, I'm looking to get back into 40k (previously a C:SM player) and have spent awhile lurking and building this list. The idea behind this list is an all-comers list, able to approach a wide variety of threats (gunlines, hordes, drop pods, etc.) and come out on top, focussing on a shooty strategy. The strategy behind this list is to set up the Laser Destroyers (to melt armour) , Devs (snipers/ anti-infiltrators with the Combat Squad), a Combat squad (All Taq Squads Combat Squad) and Thunderfires (to target exposed infantry) in deployment (centred around a structure or objective), providing a solid fire base to build off of. Meanwhile the Rhinos (with 5 Combat Squads over the 3 Rhinos) push up with the regular Vindicator to clear objectives (push infantry/ medium/ light vehicles off objectives) for the Combat Squads to claim. The captain rides with one of the Combat Squads. The Land Speeder and Bikes hunt deathstars/ HVTs (striking where needed) and the Stormtalons (which arrive turn 2 guaranteed) roam around providing support where necessary. One area of uncertainty is whether to trade the regular vindicator for a laser destroyer. All C+C welcome! I was told by my local gw shop (world of battle) that you are not allowed to take forgeworld anything to fill in a formation. ITC doesn't allow it either fyi.

Believe me bro, 3 whirlwind scorpius in a atf with a techmarine Is only 410 points for 3 str 8 ap3 large pie plates that will nearly be impossible to get rid of with the tech marine, IWND, ignoring crew shaken and stunned and PotMS.

I re-wrote the list a little, two Rhinos are now Razorbacks with TL LCs to bolster the anti-armour/ MCs in support of a lone Laser Destroyer. The Thunderfires are removed from the list and there is a Line Breaker formation present- to provide anti infantry. Other than that the general plan is the same, build a firebase and spread out, using the line breakers as a spearhead for the Rhino/ Razorbacks with other units roaming at will. This list seems pretty fun but my first thought is where are you putting the captain? He doesnt have a spot in the list anywhere unless he stays in one of you foot slogging 5 man squads or devs. Same with the tech marine. If you gave him a bike he can move with the vindicators and actually be of use. Maybe a servo harness too if he is a dedicated repair man. ATF command benefits are really helpful for a list like this because of the ignore crew shaken and stunned plus it adds +1 to repairs. That in combo with PotMS within 12 of IC helps to make those vindis extremely effective. I play that combo myself but smaller scale. I really dig the raptor wing as my list has no answer for flyers except luck and weight of fire. Check out my 2k and 1850 itc list ( stripped down 2k list)

The Techmarine was there for repairs but got hampered by the points limit. The other problem is that I wanted at least one Laser Destroyer to help with heavy armour because can you say no to three TL LC ordnance shots. Or can I take it out with any formations/ CADs?

Predators split fire between heavy armour and light infantry (sitting ~ mid board) and the Vindicators push forward targeting blobs of infantry/ heavy infantry/ close range armour. The Rhinos deposit troops on secure objectives before moving up and contesting/ holding objectives (as necessary). The bikes roam around targeting MCs/ HVTs with the Predators and Land Speeder whilst the Stormtalons strike where necessary. The Devs act as snipers. C+C welcome

Armored task force is 3-5 pred, vindi or WW not 6. Also the ironstone is really good to use on your bike ICs. Why rhinos over RB on tactical squads? Also you have alot of unneeded upgrades on your vehicles that could be used elsewhere probably even enough to get you a TF cannon or 2.

I was hoping to have an ironstone but couldn't find the points. Regarding the Atf, the codex says 3-5 units, each unit consists of one tank but subsequent tanks are listed as upgrades for that unit. So one unit can contain up to 3 tanks. This means that I only have two units in my Atf (list below) so I'm gonna have to think about that.
