Hi, complete noob here and I need some advice on building a 1850 point Eldar army for playing some just for fun, non-competitive games.
I have quite a few units and i'm not adverse to adding more (I love the look of the Swooping Hawks and Striking Scorpions) but I just need some help putting them into a useable force.
Basically the units I've got to play with are:
2 x Vipers with starcannons (90)
1 x Wraithlord with Brightlance, ghostglaive and flamers (145)
1 x Avatar of Khaine (195)
1 x Eldrad Ultharan (195)
1 x Waveserpent with Twin linked missile launchers and shuriken cannon (135)
1 x Waveserpent with twin linked brightlance (115)
1 x Farseer with Singing Spear (105)
4 x Warlocks (140)
6 x Fire dradons including Exarch with firepike (157)
5 x Warpspiders including Exarch with twin linked deathspinner (110)
7 x Dark Reapers including Exarch all with starshot missiles (182)
1 x Maugen Ra (195)
9 X Dire Avengers including Exarch with power weapon and pistol (142)
9 X Dire Avengers including Exarch with power weapon and pistol (142)
10 X Dire Avengers including Exarch with power weapon and pistil (155)
1 x Falcon with Star cannon (130)
1 x Fire Prism (125)
So yeah thats basically all the models I have, if anyone has any advice on a list and any upgrades I should take that would be very much appreciated.

Eldar CAD: Eldrad Ultharan (195) Farseer with Singing Spear (105) 10 X Dire Avengers including Exarch w/ powersword and shimmershield (160) 9 X Dire Avengers including Exarch (127) 1 x Waveserpent with Twin linked missile launchers and shuriken cannon (135) 2 x Viper with starcannon and shuriken cannon (110) 1 x Falcon with Star cannon and holofield (145) 1 x Fire Prism w/ holofield (140) Aspect Host: (+1 BS) 5 x Fire dragons including Exarch (120) 5 x Warp Spiders including Exarch (105) 7 x Dark Reapers including Exarch all with starshot missiles (182) 1 x Waveserpent with twin linked brightlance and holofield (140) LOW: Avatar of Khaine (195) Total: 1859 I would put Eldrad or the farseer with the dark reapers and the other one with the 10 dire avengers on foot with the shimmershield. The fire dragons should do well in the falcon. The avatar should help draw some fire and he is a lot of fun to mess around with, especially if you get invisibility. Only roll on the telepathy and runes of fate psychic tables. If you're not a fan of the vypers you could bring more dire avengers on foot with a shimmershield exarch. The next things I would pick up would be warp spiders and jetbikes. They're probably the best 2 individual units in the game right now. Alternating competitive and fun units usually keeps me fully interested in the army though. Good luck out there!

That's brilliant thanks.
Would you recommend using the remaining 150 points on upgrades (are serpent Shields worth it) or adding more Dire Avengers?

I like the list that Helvost put together. I might have put both DAs into the serpents and kept the reapers on foot. In a friendly game, I might not take the aspect host as a formation, and just worked the units into a CAD. Depends a lot on who you are playing and army/skill levels. Eldar are already top tier without getting extra juice from formations.
The vehicle upgrades can add up in points, but can be quite nice to have. Holofieds are the stand out pick IMHO. Getting an invuln helps a lot to your survivability, and keeps you from having to jink (and reduce your firepower)
As for what to get next, the sky is the limit. You have a pretty deep and balanced collection as it stands.
If you love the hawks and scorpions, get some. They are decent units.
Bikes are the hotness right now, and the new ones look great.
Wraithknights might be walking cheese, but they are an option.
You could probably use another wave serpent. It might just be my Saim-Hann coming through, and my undying love of grav armor. But getting mud on your boots is for lesser races. Transports or bikes for everyone!
Crimson Hunter would give you some presence in the air.

Thanks guys, I'm tempted with another Waveserpant, I do love the models (and you're right about walking being for lesser races).
Thanks for the help.

Just a clarification, but the Aspect Host has to be 3x units of the same choice.

You might want to double-check that. You can freely mix and match from the list. What you need to keep the same is they all gain either the bonus WS or BS. You can’t mix/match the boost. So it does behove you to take either all CC or all shooty aspects.
There is a separate Dire avenger formation, that does require 3 squads of them.

You're thinking of the formation from the mymeara book.
The list I posted above totals 1859 points just FYI. The other points total was just notes for me

This is a great fluffy list that still packs a punch. Im totally going to try, it but I'm going to find the points for some war walkers. I think a unit outflanking in this list would keep your opponent guessing as to what his biggest threat is. This is a wonderful list to learn how to play Eldar with.

Bring full firedragons, they have fusion guns and an epic name.

Sorry if this is bringing up too old of a thread but what do you guys think about adding some Harlequins to this army?
I love the models, think they are some of the best out there, and the Death Masque models are easy to get hold of.
The army list that Helvost put up worked really well, I still lost but I expected to having not played for 15 years.

In the OP you said you are looking for fun, non-competitive level of play. Assuming that’s still the case, there is plenty of space in your list for Harlis. And I say that as someone who’s not really read up on their modern rules.
Eldar are powerful. Very powerful. You could probably play vs. most armies with a point handicap and still do OK. Depends a lot on the skill level of you/your opponent/their army, etc. But you have a lot of wiggle room to take fun units, and still have a viable army. They could be hot garbage, and you’d still be OK. And from what I’ve heard/seen about them, they are pretty decent, if fragile. They also suffer from being a CC army in a shooty edition, and need to use formations, rather then a CAD, to get to the table.
But if you want them, take them. You will be fine.
