I'm wondering what lists y'all fly for fun/to try out a gimmick that you'd likely never take to a tournament. (I also play around with these ideas against newer players so I don't feel like I'm clubbing baby seals)
For example, yesterday I ran this list
==================
[Unnamed Squadron]
==================
I went up against a ps8 Poe , Nora, stresshog list that I wiped out at the loss of Vader only (killing Poe in 1 round of firing from Vader and Vessery, which was fun, though Vader lost his shields and took a direct hit in the exchange... should've taken the evade instead of a focus). EA went on the other flank and got behind the stresshog and I was able to put Nora and the hog on rocks at good points with the tractor beam.
But if my opponent had focused on Vessery with his shooting (and maybe Vader with stress) I'd have been in a lot of trouble.
So... what are your fun/one trick lists? And what do you think of this one?
Two TIE-Fighters and two TIE-Bombers flying in formation, both the bombers have to have some sort of bomb load on board, other than that, no specifics on load outs. The opposing side has to be the Millennium Falcon.
In case y'all didn't get the reference, in A New Hope that was one of the groups trying to force the Millennium Falcon out of the asteroid with the space worm.

You say Fiery Crash! I say Dynamic Entry!
*Increases Game Point Limit by 100*: Tau get two Crisis Suits and a Firewarrior. Imperial Guard get two infantry companies, artillery support, and APCs.

2 x Z-95 Binayre Pirates.
Ion Pulse missiles, Dead Man's Switch, Guidance Chips
2 x Z-95 Binayre Pirates.
Homing Missiles (or some variation of missile), Dead Man's Switch, Guidance Chips.

Dead Man's Switch

So this is one of the more bizarre lists/ideas that I'd only use against newer players or if you wanted a real challange. As its really not that competitive and i imagine its really hard to fly. Its the first list idea that popped into my head after reading the thread title.
You have to some how keep all your ships apart, whilst keeping all the nearly dead ones near the enemy. I played a game where my opponent took a few too many dead mans switches and spent most of the time worrying that his force was going to chain reaction kill itself. It was quite a laugh.
As for the missile load outs.... well you get the idea. I put the ion missiles in just for some kind of control and the other missiles to make a vague threat.
I fought something close to that at a game night. It was four Z95s with the Switch, GChips and Cluster missiles, supported by a barebones Zuckuss at PS9 and the title. Fun... but not very effective. He flew in tight formation, so when things started cascading...
Automatically Appended Next Post: I want to try this at least once.
Patrol leader decimator and 4x Epsilon squad pilots. I have my decimator painted like the new order special forces. it looks like a patroling squad
I also have another list i wanna try when the bat-wing comes out calling it "Father, son, and holy Ghost"
Vader TIE advance + title +adv. targeting computer + engine upgrade
starkiller pilot Upsilon shuttle (assuming its -6 from the kylo ren one) + kylo ren + 6 pts depending on the dial
OGP Lambda + palp

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.
Pretty much everything I use could be considered at least one of dumb/gimmicky. I tend to experiment a lot especially lately as its the first chance I've had to play in several months. Over the last few weeks I've used each of the following squads at least once:
Scimitar Sq. Pilot (20):
TIE Shuttle, Fleet Officer, Twin Ion Mk. II
Countess Ryad (38):
TIE/D, Ion Cannon, Crack Shot
Maarek Stele (41):
TIE/D, Ion Cannon, Marksmanship
Next time I'm able to get some games in I'll be looking to try out the named TIE/SFs, more Mindlink variants, bringing my Phantoms back out and maybe some Firespray ideas.
Double focus, eh? I love me some Echo. My mind understands the supremacy of Whisper's PS9, but the pure joy of decloaking a little bit everywhere and wrecking people's plans with Echo is undeniable.

Well, I had been trying around with the idea of a squad that's a whole bunch of cheap aces. Wanted to see what it would be like just having four PS9 guys that aren't seen all that much in my store to take a break from Fel and his Crack Swarm and X7 Defenders. This is more or less my "Second Stringers".
I wanted to try a different version of Vader, I have honestly never run him without the Engine Upgrade and Advanced Targeting Computer.
I don't use Turr Phennir very much any more so wanted to throw him in to change it up.
Scourge and Mauler Mithel seem like it isn't too hard to get their abilities off and should be fun to run them as PS9 flankers and take a break from my normal crack swarm.
