So I want to make a Necron Overlord, but I also want to make it more than the usual dude with a stick and an orb.

The loadout in-game is to be a Warscythe, Res Orb, Phase Shifter, Gauntlet of Fire, and The Nightmare Shroud.

How would I go about making this unique and cool-looking?

Figure out a way for him to two hand that scythe
Put the orb on his hip on like a chain, or have it based with like a scarab holding it up
The shroud you should make a regular smooth type instead of the current metal scale one, and paint it back with a void motif going on, cool colors and stars.

but then a gauntlet too? i didn't realize he could take so much crap.

Indeed he can.

I like the idea of a Scarab holding the Orb.

Any idea how to represent the Phase Shifter? I've got some unbuilt Dispersion Shields, I was thinking maybe ring those around him?

Probably something like an iron halo or hood.

This is gonna test my (piss-poor) green stuff skills...

But I like the ideas.
