I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it. Steven King used the idea for it in one of his short stories.

Exactly. A well done reboot could be scarier than hell.

If there is to be a reboot, I'd rather they didn't call it Plan 9 from Outer Space. Plan 9 is renowned for its terribleness, and in a strange way it is Ed Wood's magnum opus. A superior version, as odd as it may sound, would actually be inferior to the original.
