I mean, yeah, they're tougher, but if they're dying to one hit from a hot-shot...

All the shooty feats, 81 BS and a very modified hotshot. It took some luck, yes, but it was definitively feasable.

You, uh.

You weren't kidding when you said you weren't playing an average human. That's better than a Dark Eldar Archon!

Krieg! What a hole...

Yeah, fun game, sniped an ork rocket in its tube, blew up a building. We had casulties, but half the time it was from the same player who usually brought it upon himself.

For the folks at home, Chaos Space Marines have a BS of 55, and you'd need to get a minimum of 10,000 experience just to pump up your BS to Bob's stormtrooper's level, in a game where 2,500 experience is a major milestone (assuming he had somewhere in the top range of BS to start). The published campaign-length adventures tend to hand out around 3,000-5,000 over the course of their contents.

It does sound like a fun game, but it's not necessarily a great yardstick for what your average Only War character can do

He also carries a sword if he runs out of other sources of 'authority' and carries frag grenades if his authority needs to be impressed more widely.

I love this answer, thank you for the good laugh.

We reached 10000 exp or so, and under one of the expansion rules every time you hit 2500 exp, you get to add 5 pts to one of stats, I pumped everything in BS. I also started in the mid 40+ due to our custom regiment bonuses. And finaly I bought all the BS upgrades I could, lots and lots of investements, but my my did it work. Oh, and the Stormtrooper in question could almost match a Nob in wounds/DR, and he was in the weaker side of tanky dudes in the party.

Its also the game where our heavy weapon guy could take out a Killacan with a single shot of his multilaser, I think. Don't remember the numbers too well. I know I could take one out with a burst or two of my hotshot...

Yeah, I'd factored that in. There's literally no way to get that high without it

A Commissar (or any officer for that matter) would be well within his rights to take out thugs that attack him even without martial law being declared. He's a servant of the Emperor so a random civilian who offers him harm is clearly a heretic lawbreaker.

He'll have to report it but that's just paperwork that will be stamped "APPROVED" before being sent on.

I imagine the sole purpose of the paperwork is to invoice the scum's family members for ammunition expended and dry cleaning required.
