I want to make a cabal, using Thousand Sons sorcerers. What would be a good way to model this unit?

I thought about doing them on horses (knights). Maybe with warp flames and stuff.

I'm assuming discs aren't as good and should be avoided?

Has anyone ever used a unit like this?

Discs are actually good, as for 10 points more you're getting Jetbike rules and an additional attack compared to a bike.

However, you're forced into MoT. That's bad on Sorcerers. I'd recommend modeling them as discs but keeping them as regular bikes and losing MoT.

Do the discs give you +1 toughness?

Is that Mark of Tzeentch bad for sorcerers? Why?

I don't believe you get +1 to toughness for the disc. And taking Mark of Tzeentch isn't good as you're forced to use their psychic powers which themselves aren't good.
As above advice mentions, model the sorcerer(s) on discs and play them as bikes.

I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples

Would that bother anyone? Seems odd that I would proxy discs for bikes (when discs themselves have special rules).

But it would be easier to get. Getting sorcerers on bikes sounds like a chore.

Even to hardcore WYSIWYG players, rule of cool will triumph if you're reasonable with the upgrades.

I do not feel like running them as a death star either. What is a good fluffy way to run this cabal?

I just figured 3-4 ML 3 sorcerers on bikes. Maybe spawn as bodyguards? Or maybe no bodyguards?

Well this is neat. I may try this:

Spawn or Hounds are the go-to choice.

Everytime I see Khorne and Tzeentch together I cringe. Well, I just don't like seeing mixed demon armies in general. Most seem silly.

I could see Nurgle and Khorne together, or Slaanesh and Tzeentch I guess.

They don't get access to the new Tzeentch powers, like the D-attack?

Maybe if GW releases a Tzeentch focuses Chaos book?

Why wouldn't you? They are jetbikes and jetbikes give +1 T if they are not part of a unit's basic equipment.

Yea- you absolutely get +1 T for the jetbike. Discs are awesome! MoT sucks because you're forced to roll on the worst psyker table in the game.... That could change with Fenris 2 tho

I am really confused.

Shouldn't Tzeetch be the BEST psyker table in the game?

Part of me says don't bother with thousand sons until the release of magnus and the plastic rubric marines this christmas. I mean it should come with the first plastic sorceror chaos has ever gotten (quite sad if you think about it) and all the thousand son bits you could ever want. December isn't that far away.

If Discs gives you +1 toughness and count as jetbikes, wouldn't it be better to take them over bikes?? Aren't they cheaper?

Discs are 10 points more expensive than normal bikes but also lock you into tzeentch, so they're certainly not cheaper.
With three of them that's an extra 30 points over MoT + bike and you might not be able to make use of the extra movement.

Don't forget that the disc gives you an extra attack though and you have the option to turbo boost to any objective within 36 inch (12 move + 24 boost).

As for bike conversions, I'd try my luck with sculpting robes onto the bikers legs. Ideally mix in the heads from the TSons upgrade kit.
Adorn the bike accordingly and you should be fine. Especially if you're using axes.
Consider if you want to use any relics. That might give you some ideas for a conversion. That's what I did with my nurgle sorc on bike.
The chaos barrel replacement head comes to mind for tzeentch bikers. This one: http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/sprues/data/739/medium/DSC00665.JPG

Yes they are supposed to be, but the rules for CSMs make this not the case in actuallity (as a result of Tzeentch having the worst discipline in the game)
