So ive been doing some thinking, and i cant decide which i think is the better option.

Blood host:
Pros
-slaughter cult gets free fnp basically whole game.
-free tithe point per turn
-gore pack move through cover, pe psykers, and hammer of wrath boosts are great

Cons
-slaughtercult is kind of large and really heavy on troops
-possessed tax
-outside gorepack and warmachines, the other formations are kind of "meh". Brazen onslaught is pretty okay.

Cad
Pros
-flexible
-little to no points wasted on "tax"

Cons
-doesn't really ADD anything
-limited number of heavy slots for soul grinders/mauler fiends
-limited number of slots for bikers/hounds

Another thought i had was using a large slaughtercult with as many units of marines as i can fit to take advantage of the free (probably fnp) boon each turn.

Thoughts?

Just use the CAD and add formations for taste.

Save yourself some heartache and don't do this.

Like the previous reply said: just take a CAD and a Formation detachments and take whatever you want.

CAD main advantage is objective secured.
KDK cares little for it, you wish to eliminate the enemy anyway.

I'd say take formations.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Cad's main advantage is being cheaper. You can basically get CAD with characters for a price of 2 cultist or bloodletter units. But free BT point every turn is useful. Free buff - not so much as it only affects the slaughter cult. The most competitive you can get is probably with cads for characters and a bunch of dog formations for msu.

Every time I do a CAD + Formation (usually gorepack), I generate less Blood Tithe points, and seem to do worse in the game over all.

Maybe it is who I fight against, but Obj Sec never helps me.

In the future when I want to add something odd, like a Khorne Knight or Heldrake without it's formation, I will do the minimum CAD+cultists to add it into the army. Blood host base from now on.
