I'm going to be getting the kill team box set fairly soon and I'm dead set on Carcharodons I've always like them since I read through the Badab war books, my question is two fold.

What paint do I need to accomplish the forge world scheme but with blue eyes?

Where can I find some good bolter bayonets and or chain axes for there combat upgrades?

so been looking around for answers to this and this is what I came up with.

First either a krylon black or Grey base coat. Followed by a base coat Mechanicus standard grey.

The shoulders, gun body and knee pads Abbadon Black or a mix of Abbadon Black mix with Mechanicus standard grey like maybe a 3 to 1 mixture with a highlight of Eshin Grey.

An all over wash in Nuln Oil

For the faceplate dawstone then build up to White Scar

The metallics will be Brass Scorpion washed with Agrax Earthshake and highlighted with hashut copper, the gun and other metal is Lead Belcher

Not sure what I'm gonna do for eyes it's between red, blue or yellow. That and I know nothing of sealing the minis, but that's what I came up with, thoughts?

Since I play Carcharadons, I'll list the paints I use... you may find a quicker/better way suits you better:


I spray white, base with The Fang. Layer Stormvermin Fur, Oil wash, Dawnstone, with edge highlights in the Administratum grey (the super pale one)... For Mk 7 shoulders with rims, I go black, with the rim getting layers of Skavenblight dinge and highlight of Stormvermin.

For vehicles, I'm doing the AdMech grey spray, wash black, dawnstone and Administratum edges

Depending on what tone of blue you want for the eyes, I may suggest looking up how to do the plasma glow for Skitarii guns and either wash it darker, or start with a much darker blue.

If you go with red eyes, as I have, I go with Mephiston base, Evil sunz (carefully leaving some of the base along the back edge), then Wild Rider Scarlet (carefully leaving even more of the back edges showing)

If I remember to, when I get home from school and whatnot, I'll see if I cant get some decent pictures of some of the stuff I've gotten done and post here so you can see how it looks.

I personally like the overall look of my grey, as I think that it has retained some of the "ocean blue" sort of tone from the Fang base coats.

Got a couple pictures of some completed minis:




The first shot was done without flash, for the more "natural" look, how I see the minis day to day, and how sort of subtle the edge highlights are. The second was done with flash just so you could see in better detail those same edges.

Dude at my local shop had a sheet of the FW transfers, I traded him some bits for it
