What year was the last released book? Are they closing in on Terra or are they still dicking around?

Well the Alpha Legion are currently sat around Pluto and had a foray with the Imperial Fists there, so there are Traitor Legions in the system. And it is heavily implied that Horus and his buddies will be joining them soon enough.

So they are progressing, just slowly.

All but three of the series are written. So the end is in sight (to blackibray at least) . There are 3 "big events" to cover before terra.

What three events?

1. Space Wolves vs. Thousand Sons and the burning of Prospero
2. ??
3. ??

4. The Siege of Terra, which could have more than a couple big events itself.

The only thing I can think of are the Dark Angels returning home to Caliban. What am I missing?

According to the one friend who has kept up with the series and remained with it..........dicking about. Used to know at least 10-12 people all reading every book. We all dropped off one by one, except for the last man who is very very close to jacking it in as well.

I think there is some confusion about which books you are talking about. Are you asking about the novels from the black library series or the 30k gaming books from FW?

SPOILERS!

If you're talking about the novels, they've just started reaching the Solar System. The White Scars have just reached Terra, the Blood Angels are about to leave Ultramarine, and the first tendrils of the Alpha Legion are in the outer system. The novellas and short stories are dicking around as usual.

If you're talking about the black books, they're further behind - about midway through Horus's war of Dark Compliance, but the next book is Prospero so that delays things a little.

Well the biggest node left to cover is Beta Garmon. Which is a big old battle including such things as "the great slaughter" and "the titandeath". Which may be the same thing.
