I'd rather make lots of full craters in all shapes and sizes.
A shoebox full should be fine for most situations and would take more than a weekend to make and paint.
Watching you trying to place those on the "hill" and your hand was painfully slow.
I really can't see how they can look good without dozens and dozens of broken ground centre pieces to cover all eventualities.
thnx
i made mine out of so many pieces because i cast them so i could mass produce them . some i will use craters , some as basing bits for larger models like knights , and some as terrain details . when i do the HOW to part i plan to point that out that they can be made of fewer pieces . also , they can be glued into larger sections so there are less to assemble . i just did mine for maximum versatility .
this is only my forth vid , so i am still trying to get better at planning them , and trying to pace the flow . i still have a LONG way to go . also i i JUST got this camera tonight , and am getting used to it and figure out what other items i need to improve the shoot .
the "hill" segment was hard for me to do , and i am trying to plan out my vids to require less fine manipulation because of nerve issues . it bothers me to see how bad my hand shakes in the vids . i wanted to put it in because it seemed like an important feature , but i agree it could have been better executed ,
and part of the appeal of this to me is that the center pieces are flat and easy to store , so i wouldnt need as many craters , and they could be more easily stored since i would need fewer of them .
