Hey Dakka, I am not sure if this is in the right place, but I am looking for some advice for counts as.

I am in the process of writing my Slanneshi Daemons list, and I realize I need some fiends of Slannesh.

I am looking for a counts as unit because frankly, the GW ones look stupid and are ridiculously overpriced.

Preferable I would like something affordable, because I think my list is gonna have something like 6 total.

Spiders seems like a cool starting place, specifically the Grot Spider riders.

Are they a similar size? I would probably mend a Daemonettes body to the spider to make it look a lot like a spider woman thing.

I am concerned about the size, and if they aren't, anything recommendations?

Thanks!
~Mikey

Looks like they're about yea-big:

I've never been a massive fan tbh. Could definitely do with an updated model for spider-riders...

I like the Slaaneshi snake-women idea, althiugh probably a little more delicately done than these: http://elementgames.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/1841-original.jpg

Yeah the snake women look really good, I just don't really have the GS skill to do that.

I am not too sold on the Vargheist as they don't scream Slannesh to me, and I would like an obvious Slanneshy creature.

Alas, beggars can't be choosers. Thanks for the Comparison Ynnead, I think if I have them a larger base and some cork they should be good for casual play I think.

Thanks all!

Box of seekers, clip off the rider's arms and GS it onto the mount.

Cheap as chips and looks far more slaaneshi than any other alternative.

Here's one I found online (not mine):

I've also seen some people use Bloodletter torsos, but I think the Daemonette Torsos that come with the set should suffice if you want to go that way.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Yeah I don't have the GS skills either :S it's a shame there's no giant snake (or half-decent giant spider) models from GW. I'm sure there are others out there from third parties though.

I think the issue I have with the Goblin Spiders is the legs. They're squished in to make them fit on a fantasy cavalry base, and the body's too low to the ground.

Maybe if you clip them off and glue them on in a wider position, making them taller as well.

Yeah that might work nicely

I think I found the perfect site!

http://otherworldminiatures.co.uk/?s=spider&submit.x=0&submit.y=0&submit=Search&post_type=product

Now the only question is, which do I go for? Pasting Daemonettes to a basic spider, or just buying the dryder and being done with it?

The dryders are perfectly Slannesh-ey, but might not fit with Daemonettes and seekers, ideas?

^^^This! These are BY FAR the best alternative for Fiends. So much so that I think the models Is actually garbage as the Seeker it's intended to be.

I vote Witch Elves with Daemonette heads and claws pasted onto spiders

I definitely miss the more sensuous metal daemonettes. Not for seedy reasons, but just because I thought they were much cooler models and closer to what I'd imagine daemonettes to be than the weird hermaphrodite crab-people you get now...

I've seen some kickass kitbashes between daemonettes and witch elves that work very nicely

Do that!

You don't even need to get Daemonette heads because the Witch Elves box makes another units and that unit has very, VERY Slaanesh looking masks

Oh yeah those Sisters of Slaughter heads would look kickass!

If you wanna go cheap, using Seekers with arms is the best option. If the extra moolah is not an issue, then yeah, Sisters of Slaughter with spider bodies would look awesome

I think Im gonna do Sisters of slaughter with the spiders.

My arachnophobia is gonna have to take a backseat, because I am incredibly excited.

Thanks!

Do you guys think hounds of Xapha would be acceptable as Fiends of Slaanesh? They can look quite slaaneshy with the right colour scheme....

I've been thinking about potential kitbashes between DEldar Wyches and Daemonettes. Think that could work?

If you search for Slaanesh Eldar there's some cool conversions out there of warped up eldar, although I expect you'd be leaning more towards the daemonette side of things:

the hounds of Xapha might work, with a bit of slanneshy-ing they'd look good.

the pale flesh tone on the daemonette is both unsettling and awesome.

Thanks for your reply, I missed the 'n' while typing on this awful keyboard it's hounds of Xaphan. They look to be similar size to fiends, perhaps not as tall... I'd really love a side by side comparison. I think with their smoothish skinned-like appearance it would be easy to blend in with Daemonettes and Seekers with the right paint scheme. Going to be pricey though and I'll have two identical lonely Renegade Ogryns I would need to sell afterwards.
