Been working on these guys as my first army since about April 2015. Figured I'd come and show off a bit of my work to help get some motivation to finish my final painting for Adepticon 2017.

Going to have to apologize for the picture quality. I need to get better lighting.

You can kind of see a progression in proficiency. I will be posting them in roughly the order I started painting them using the Sons of Ultramar painting guide.

I really fell in love with the Suzerain models. They function as my Honor Guard.

Devastators - I've taken to trying to represent each Ultramarine Company within my army by occasionally painting different shoulder trim colors, and to vary things up a little.

Also, is there a sizing feature I can use on these pictures? They are looking rather huge.

Lovely UMs! I second utterly your sentiment toward the suzerians, such beautiful models. Would love to see some more of your honour guard.

Thanks for the encouragement. Most of these are over a year old, so hopefully I can show you some where my technique has cleaned up. The TFC was the test run to see how well the guide showed me, hence why he is on a differrent base. Used Duncan's marble effect how-to later on because I didn't like how some of my earlier attempts worked out.

Hopefully I'll get a better picture setup in the future.

Solid gold colours, liking the use of the Ultramarine upgrade sprue in the army - wish I had that when I was starting.

Solid work. Will look great on the table

Hope you don't mind but. I would suggest painting on a little bit of gloss varnish under any transfer then use some Micro Sol to soften and deform the transfer around awkward shapes like pauldrons etc. Finally seal with a blast of matt varnish.

Second. And once you push the decal down (preferably with a cotton bud) after the MicroSol makes it malleable, be sure to hit it with MicroSet. Let it dry completely and then matte varnish the sucker. That will make sure they set fully and have no silvering.
