Hello all,
Which rule books should I get for a Chaos force leaning towards Slaanesh?
Can the Warriors of Chaos take Marks of Slaanesh?
Do I need more than just the Generals Handbook?
Do the formations in the Chaos book have points values?

I have 40 Daemonettes and 20 Seekers... any advice on what else to buy for a 1000/1500/2000 lists?
If it could include the extra models require to do the Grand Cavalcade formation in 40k then thats even better!

If you want to go towards Slaanesh, you don't need any book other than The General's Handbook. The only Mortal battalion for Slaanesh I consider a big deal is the Godsworn Champions of Ruin, and it's not worth buying a whole Grand Alliance book for that alone. Daemons of Slaanesh don't even have Battalions that are usable in Pitched battle.

Are you looking to do Mortal or Daemon focused? I would suggest a mix, but pure of either is probably fine. Slaanesh daemons have the distinction of being the fastest in the game - but they're made of class moreso than many other armies. You'll want something hardy and killy because if you go with just Daemonettes and Seekers, you'll often get tabled quite quickly. Keeper of Secrets is a good dude to put in that spot, but hardy Mortal units are good as well. Knights, Lords/Sorcs on Manticores, Warriors, Princes, etc will all provide a fire/charge magnet while your fast units sweep around to get to proper targets. Or, your fast units will go tie up things while your big hammers can get in place.

You could make a very fun, fast army with Seekers, Daemonettes, Chaos Knights, and then fast heroes on mounts (or big Daemons). I'm not familiar enough with effectiveness to tell you how competitive it would be, but that's what I'd go for.

Hiyas!

You can get most of what you need from GW's web site for free https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Warhammer-Age-of-Sigmar-Rules

I recommend picking up the Generals Handbook, which it seems you have covered and listed You can also get the Chaos Book, which has some Battalions in it but all the Warscrolls are already available for free. Might be a good buy if you prefer books.

Warriors of Chaos can take the keyword Slaanesh, which is similar. They can be buffed by different heroes and spells.
There is a Battalion, Daemon Cohort of Slaanesh, which looks pretty good and can be used with models you have in addition to some HQ's.

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Sadly the Daemon Cohort of Slaanesh doesn't have points as far as I know. And some of the warscrolls in the Grand Alliance: Chaos books are slightly out of date. It's good if you like having a physical copy of things, but keep an eye on the app to make sure you're using the right rules.

Thanks alot for your feedback everyone. I'll just pick up the Generals Handbook for now and familiarie myself with everything. I would like to mix mortals in with my daemons that I already have.

Its right there on the bottom of page 146 of the General's Handbook.

Oh, it's in the Daemons of Chaos unaligned and in the "out of print/legacy" section instead of the Hosts of Slaanesh section where it would make sense. Thanks GW for making me look a fool

That's not a bad buy in and the effect is pretty ok. But you also don't need the Grand Alliance book for it (is it even in there? It's on the app for free), so no biggie.

So yeah, actually take a look at that Intercessor. Your minimal buy in is a Daemon Prince, Herald of Slaanesh, 3 units of Daemonettes, and 1 unit of Seekers, though I'd wager you could get good effect by mixing some Chariots into those options.
