For all you who say tankbustas got nerfed in the FAQ.

Maybe they did a bit, but I cant seem to take them out of my list. They are my favorite unit to convert and play. Before the multi melta bombs we used to have, tank hammers were obsolete. Not a very good thing to invest points in. The nerf to tankbusta bombs makes them relevant again. I have been taking 1 to 3 in a squad and pairing them with squig bombz... This way, you don't have to replace a rocket shot with one squig shot, the tank hammer isn't shooting anyways.. just have him use the squig bomb.

Side question... I've always done it this way, but can you benefit from tank hunter special rule with squigs? I mean, it IS the unit using the wargear, so I don't see why you couldn't.

Just thought id give my 2 teef. Thoughts?

I understand d people are upset about the grenade change, but how often were your Tank Bustaz charging anyway?

Mine personally... not a whole lot.. but they got their points back as a diversion unit even if they fizzled out. I'm lucky when they hop out of a trukk, send the suicidal squigglys and pop a tank before the orks even get a chance to charge it.

If I don't charge my tankbustas at least once in a game, one of 2 things has happened.
1) My opponent's doesn't have many vehicles or MC's or Super Heavies.
2) I'm getting beat badly, and my tankbustas got shot to death before they charged.

They did much more damage in Close combat than they did with shooting. I've put down more than a dozen Wraithknights, and probably 25+ Imperial Knights with Tankbustas on the Charge. They don't generally kill those things with shooting, they generally kill them in assault, and if you get a Grimmed up or invisible chaos knight, tankbustas are one of the few answers. Or were. In CC they hit on 4's. In shooting they hit on 5's. In CC they have armorbane and AP:1. In shooting they have diddly. In shooting they get shot back at. In CC they get to be the safest place for any Ork on a modern tabletop.

Could you imagine if someone had asked, How Often do you charge boyz, aren't shootas/sluggas good enough? Orks are a close combat army. Until the GW FAQ Tankbustas were close combat oriented as well.

Superheavy rules needs remake anyway. Other vehicles tend to die from a single melta bomb penetration or at least stay there to get hit once more.

Stomp soflty and carry a big choppa.

My 5-man tankbusta squads in trukks often charge. A charged land raider was a dead land raider. Now, il will be just a scratched land raider...

Yes tank hunter works on squig bombz. A SAG big mek even gets TH if he joins them!

I've never tried a shokk mek with them yet... altho I thought about making a counts as shokk attack weapon with a fusillade full of orky rokkitz that will just always be a part of their squad.

Can only use 1 melta bomb in close combat instead of having every busta clamping on melta bombs at the same time.

Is that a recent update? I thought CQC grenades were limited to 1 per squad a long time ago?

Due the way rule was written some people understood you was only able to *throw* one at shooting/overwatch but able to use all the units one in assault phase (guilty as hell)

The FAQ clarifies this and it's just one grenade per unit in all phases even assault.

Ah right, I dropped my emp fire warriors a while ago Glad my plan to have a squad of tankbustas in a wagon is still worth using then!

Yep but in shooting you get all the rokkits and in melee you get one meltabomb and a bunch of s4 attacks. They could probably wreck a rhino anywayz. But not something serious like an IK. Cause first you have to pass a fear test - than hit on a 4+ or 5+, than pen the av13 - easier with tankhunter but still not a guarantee, and than roll 5+ to get more than a 1h down and d3 to see how many you get. I mean, they can still be ok as a throwaway unit but don't expect them to pop knights left and right like they used to before the grenade nerf. I now use killsaw manz for the job.

Yea, for beefier enemies a kill saw Mek> a few tankhammers, just hate throwing a pricey mek in a suicide squad.

I run two max units with PK Nob who benefits from TAnkhunters. Also each have a painboy.

Both units go in Blitz Brigade with a Kannon and 4 Rokkits each with scout. That's 55 Rokkits that can hit anywhere first turn.

The other three Batewagons carry Bully Boyz. Two min grot units camping objectives.

It's a quick setup that's for sure!

Fighting crime in a future time!
