Hello Dakkanauts,

I have just moved to my new flat and I am thinking in investing in a suitable hobby desk.

The plan is to start with the actual desk and then add adjustable paint stations and on and above.

Do you guys suggest Ikea, Argos or any other place I haven't heard of? I am located in Birmingham just in case you wondered.

Any advice is welcome.

Cheers

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Definitely try out charity stores like the British Heart Foundation, they have tons of awesome furniture, often better than you could pick out in furniture catalogues. I got my painting desk from there.

If you are looking for store recommendations, Ikea is consistent, and thrift stores can often have fantastic furniture for relatively low prices, particularly in the UK.

If you are looking for desk recommendations, then this is kind of a hard thing to suggest without knowing the dimensions of the room you are going to put it in.

For example, I live in a one bedroom studio apartment with my girlfriend, my painting desk is my computer desk, meaning I don't have too much room, so I had to invest in shelving to store stuff. That said if I had a second room/office, I would be investing in a large flat corner desk, so that one portion could be for hobby and one portion for my PC.

I recently happened to change my whole setup and i bought a new desk from https://www.reecoupons.com/view/flexispot. the desk is very comfortable and it can adjust with your position easily. furthermore, it is very cheap in price as compared to IKEA etc. I suggest you look there too maybe you find the desk of your choice.
