I haven't played in awhile do people use the death from the skies rules now? If so does the formation count if i was making a demi-company and I needed one auxiliary choice if so do i use the rules from the death from skies books? I am really confused!

Most people do NOT play with Death From The Skies. Ask your local gaming group-but if they're like mine, they don't care about or use that book.

At ATC this year they did. Basically removed my team from the tourney because it wrecked our ig player and his Elysian Air Force build. Had Death from the Skies not been forced in at the last minute he would have done alot better.

A demi-company doesn't have auxiliaries.

If you mean that you're making a lions-blade then no, none of the formations in DFtS are auxiliaries - the auxiliaries you may select are listed in the lions-blade detachment details.

Should you choose to use death from the skies then you could use any of the formations or the flyer wing detachment in your army but they would not be part of the lions-blade.

You can use the silence squadron as part of your lions-blade and use the additional rules for flyers from DTfS if you choose to do so.
