I'm totally new to 40k and have just acquired my codex (SM) and rulebook. It's slow reading!

I do have one obviously stupid question but- unless I've missed the painfully obvious- I can't find the answer.

Your help (and please muffle your laughter) would be appreciated. It's to do with how far units & models can move.

In the 'movement distance' section of my Kill Team rulebook (p18), I quote, 'models move up to 6" in the movement phase'.

Forgive me, but does this mean every single miniature can move a maximum of 6"?

Surely a Rhino, for instance, can move further than a Terminator?

Forgive my ignorance. Where should I be looking for guidance on how far each unit type can move? The rulebook or the codex? I feel like an idiot.

For a new player, it’s going to take a couple of passes through the rulebook to get everything, so don’t feel bad. It’s not the most well organized book in the world. Just read it once assuming that if something is not clear, it will be obvious later. On the second pass a lot more stuff makes sense. If it never gets explained, you can always go to the index or here for answers.

Yeah, i've been playing for about 5-6 years now, and I consistently forget the most obvious things. As for the movement situation, all models move 6", but vehicles, bikes, MC, all have a section explaining their special rules later in the text.
Just remember, braveheart, and tough through the book. It can be daunting, but much of the back section is extra content you won't need immediately.
