This is a tricky one.

One of the new Warlord Traits for Word Bearers adds +1 Mastery Level, turning you character into a Psyker if your character previously wasn't one.

The Chaos Boon Dark Apotheosis replaces your Lord with a Daemon Prince in Power Armor, that loses all other Special Rules and Wargear. It does however retain its Warlord Trait.

The question is, what happens when a Warlord with the +1 ML Psyker trait becomes a Prince? Does it:

A) Retain its original Mastery Level and original power?
B) Retain its original Mastery Level but roll for a new power?
C) Somehow gain an additional Mastery Level? (All Mastery Levels are directly an implicit part of the Warlord trait). If this is the case, how are previously known powers impacted?
D) Have a useless Warlord Trait?

I would like to know your thoughts on this. As much as option C would be best, with A being preferable, I see B being the most likely scenario.

I'd say B. It's a new unit, but the wl trait would still kick in.

I'd go with A. If it doesn't say to roll for a different power with Dark Apotheosis then you don't have permission to discard the old power you had and roll for a new one..

ML 1 DP. Either keep one power or roll a new one, whichever opponent preferred. My preference is to make note of which power originally gets rolled thanks to the +1ML and keep that one.

Dark Apotheosis simply makes this new unit count as you WL now and give it that same trait as the Lord that died.

What if my warlord is an alpha legionnaire?

Do I end up with 2 warlords?

Many Heads only triggers on your Warlord being slain, and your Warlord does not count as being slain until the Prince is also killed.

Also, I imagine being Marked would supersede being able to roll Malefic?
