So after my first game back in 7th, I suddenly feel that my Blood Angels aren't quite cutting it. I admit a lot of it is from the shock of losing AM troops (I'm a slow collector)
So, what do I do to remain competitive in 7th against all the formations and super heavies?
I own;
2x 10 assault marines (or JP melee death company), (or even vanguard vets)
2x 10 tactical marines
2x furioso dread (1 claws, 1 frag/fist)
1x baal predator (heavy bolter sponsons, either main weapon)
2x drop pods
1x devastators (4x missile launchers)
1x rhino
1x vindicator
1x 10 sanguinary guard
1x librarian (force sword, JP or backpack)
2x sanguinary priests ( both bolt pistol/power sword, JP or backpack)
1x chaplain (bolt pistol, jump pack)
1x 10 TH/SS termies
1x termi librarian (force axe/staff, SS)
5x sternguards
1x regular knight, any loadout (tbh i'd rather not use it, but at the same time I'd rather not be miserable on princible)

And at a pinch I can press gang another 2x 10man tactical squads

So where would be a good place to go? I get the sense some anti-tank is required, as it's been shown through blood and sacrifice that dreadnoughts can't punch a knight to death.
Getting 10 sternguard vets would be convenient for me if they would help.
I'm thinking maybe sniper scouts? lascannon devastators?

I was also heavily considering getting some Imperial guard allies, as Elysians. So vets in a valkyrie? command squad in a vendetta?

PS. Does this thread make me that guy?

Remain competitive? Play them as red vanilla marines. Otherwise the angel's blade strike force (I think that's the name) has decent results according to the dakkadakka resident salty BA player.

the red marines is a possibility.
Still leaves the question open

Definitely not 'that guy'.

I'd say regarding what to add, it depends on the local meta and specifically the game/point size most folks play at.

If it's 1850 or less, just go with Vanilla SM rules and be much happier. If it's 2000+ though, the new Angel's Blade detachments/formations can do some really cool stuff - but you'll need a bit more stuff to flush out the formations, they are super 'wholesale' formations, you can't just take 1 baal predator or just 2 tactical squads etc... which is why I say they're only good for huge games.

Death Company are good again but you need a lot to make the formation go, terminator squads can be ok but you'll need 3 minimum for the formations...

Sternguard are always nice and a 3rd drop pod would definitely be good.
