Like many others, I'm ridiculously happy with the release of Traitor Legions. I have a painted up Alpha Legion army and a bunch of Cultists, and now I actually get to put them to good use. Here's the list, meant for competitive play. I know it won't win a GT, but I think it has the punch to win RTTs. I would have loved to have taken the Sons of Alpharius detachment, but honestly the Command Benefits didn't seem that great compared to the limited Formations available.

Alpha Legion CAD

HQ
1- Chaos Lord: Power fist, Lightning Claw, Drakescale Plate, Sigil of Corruption
1- Dark Apostle: Mindveil (Warlord)

ELITES
5- Terminators: Lightning Claw, Combi-Plasmas
1- Mutilator
1- Mutilator

TROOPS
35- Cultists
6- Chosen: 4 Meltaguns, Champ w/ Power Weapon, Dreadclaw Drop Pod

HEAVY SUPPORT
1- Fire Raptor Gunship: Reaper Autocannons
1- Maulerfiend
1- Maulerfiend

Forsworn Knight Detachment
1- Knight: Reaper Chainsword, Rapid-fire Battle Cannon

The idea is to get the Apostle with the Cultists, either via warlord trait (Forward Agent or Faceless Commander), or by joining the Chosen in the drop pod and disembarking to join them. The cultists are a massive infiltrating Obsec unit that will be fearless, and will be able to move 3D6" each turn, with Zealot. For super cheap. The Lord will join the Chosen, who are a great little assault unit. Maulerfiends paired with a Knight pose a target priority issue for many opponents, and all 3 are pretty punchy. The Fire Raptor is a straight up killer, and the Terminators are another deep striking unit that can help clear off objectives. Mutilators, when taken singly like I did, can actually be worth their points by dropping onto objectives late game and mixing it up in cc. They are somewhat survivable for 55 points, having the 2+ armor and invul save.

Do you have to use the warband formation or can you use the CAD you are using now to get infiltrating cultists n chosen?

In the Grimdark future of DerpHammer40k, there are only dank memes!

Yup. If not, there'd be no point to making Chosen troops.

Why not just attach the lord and/or apostle to the cultists? I'm pretty sure if one model has infiltrate it allows the entire unit to infiltrate (or outflank)

Also, why not just give the lord terminator armour? It would come out cheaper if you dropped the sigil (which seems like a waste of points if you already have a 5++). Your lord costs 155 points, but as a terminator lord with the same weapons he would cost 132. 137 to upgrade the fist to a chainfist (recommended). I suppose it doesn't matter too much but it would be easier to build if you don't already have the model

I wish I could just attach the Apostle to them! Unfortunately, Infiltrate does not confer to ICs that join.

I have thought of Terminator armor, but that would make his assault unit unable to sweep units in close combat. Also, a 5++ is not nearly as useful as a 4++, so I'd end up buying the Sigil even if I took Terminator armor. The chainfist is a great idea though, I hadn't thought of that. It would make him scary to a Knight who had 1-2 HP left.
