Yaho,

Just finished a 3d printing primer course and by Terra am I ever psyched.

I've already done some serious work with 2d laser cutting plastics and so on, but 3d is another dimension of work (hur). To that end I ask y'all is there such a thing as a library, catalogue or other central repository of public domain 40k compatible model parts for download? In particular i'm thinking IG Heavy and Special weapons, but I can easily see myself designing and building a "Ryza Pattern" plasma blastgun at this point, unless it's been done already

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.

Just to be clear about this, as far as this site (Dakka) is concerned, 3D printing of IP owned by a company falls into the same category as recasting of models, our stance on which is covered here.

If you are asking (and getting responses) only for 3D printed public domain works that just happen to be compatible with 40K models, then its fine for this thread to remain open.

However, the second this conversation starts veering towards recommendations of where/how to print actual IP owned by another company, then this thread will be immediately locked.

This is exactly what I am after and nothing else - A better version of the Vulture's Punisher cannon, Vendetta wing lascannons and maybe an IG guardsman compatible multi melta would be ideal.

There are many repositories, and I use Thingiverse for everything so far.
I have only been printing for a couple of weeks, for I got some GPL snowflake patterns from there.
I was thinking of making some LRBT barrels based on the 'other' LRBT kit they don't have in the bundles. I have both kits, so I have something to base them on, but they'll be for personal use only, of course.
