Hey guys, looking through the 'Hellrain brigade' formation I believe you can get a second Taurox Prime in the formation which may or may not be able to deepstrike with the Tempestus Squad. I want to know whether i'm making an error in judgement or if you agree with me.

1) If i'm correct, the MT Squad can take a dedicated transport which wouldn't fill any allowance on the Hellrain's unit list as the transport comes under the squad itself?

2) Would this also under the 'Hellrain reinforcements' special rule allow the transport to deepstrike in with it's squad as the rule states an identical unit (which would include the units dedicated transport too) is placed into Ongoing AND Deep Strike reserves. The Deep Strike special rule is not conferred by the unit inside the transport but the 'Hellrain Reinforcements' special rule that forces the vehicle into Deep Strike reserve?

3) If the squad can take a transport but the transport cannot Deep Strike, would the transport respawn but have to enter the board from Ongoing reserves without Deep Striking? If so would the entire unit have to re-enter from normal reserves or could the vehicle enter from the board edge and the Squad Deepstrike?

Statistically, you will almost certainly die when assaulting a well-maintained fortress with a competent commander. You must strive to make your death useful.

Your foe is well equipped, well-trained, battle-hardened. He believes his gods are on his side. Let him believe what he will. We have the tanks on ours.

Dedicated Transports are selected with and count as having the same Battlefield Role and Faction as the unit they were bought for, but do not count as part of that unit.

As above, the Dedicated Transport does not count as part of the unit it was selected with. Hellrain Reinforcements applies only to destroyed units of Tempestus Scions.

Thank you for the reply. Still can't get used to the new formations and detachments. Much appretiated!

Don't feel bad. It took most of a while to get it down, and then things like the Decurion came along to make it even more confusing. We just have had time to "train up" to it, is all.

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?
