And if you still think that the warhound has much better fire power, remember that:
-D weapons only get deathblows on a 6
-Turbo laser's aren't TL, unlike the Acastus Knights cannons, so much more reliable accuracy from the Acastus Knight
-2 AC's/LC's and the carapace weapon firing at BS 5 more than make up for any gap in the firepower of the arm weapons.

But remember, the turbolasers don't have to roll to penetrate and do D3 HP instead of just one. Against the high-AV targets that you want to use a unit like this to kill the Warhound is putting out ~4x the firepower on average, even without counting 6s on the D-weapon table (which you're fairly likely to get with four shots). The knight looks like a good unit, sure, but when you need the biggest targets dead you bring a Warhound.

Or a ~200pt Primaris-Lightning.

Which bad boy? The Acastus or the Lightning? If the former, my wallet is having sympathy pains!

The Acastus. I may not use it in competitive play but it's a beautiful mini for purely fluff games.

Out of curiosity has anyone been able to use this unit in a game? I have mine built haven't tested it out on the table top.

Its a step down from a warhound with turbolasers trading Str D for more anti infantry or moderate aa. It is a expensive and powerful unit that can be taken by a chainfist dreadnought or rendered mute by a sicaran venator.

Ran it once so far, almost died to a drop podding dread before I sent in some artalax to save him then killed nearly 600 points of poorly placed terminators that failed a charge, Ended the game with 2 hull points remaining.

Speaking of warhound ironically this thing carries guns that would be much more appropriate stats for turbo-laser destructors as per epic where while good tank busting weapons weren't that hot against titans.

One pet peeve of mine.

I fought one of these in a 40k event and it is nasty as hell. even with the asinine weapon ranges from the FAQ it still destroyed almost everything it looked at, and it was alive till turn 6 with 4 armies firing at it.

413th Lucius Exterminaton Legion- 4,000pts

Atalurnos Fleetbreaker's Akhelian Corps- 2500pts

That's kind of surprising it's got lots of offensive power but misses out on melta or haywire immunity that true titans get.

Alpha striking with a drop pod of combi meltas almost garuntees it's death.

well, no one brought drop pods and there was a Khorne demon kin army standing between it and us so it survived until support came.
