The Siege of Vraks book shows us what a general Chaos/Nurgle forge world uprising would look like with legions of zombies and plague orgyns and other nurgle crap turning the entire planet into a giant plague-ridden mudball.

Genestealer Cult book shows us what a mining planet cult uprising would look like. And I guess Khorne never does subtle so I'm sure its just insane guys killing everyone with blood everywhere (Seriously isn't Khorne the most made for 10 year old kid Chaos god ever?) ...

But what would a Slaneeshi Cult rising look like? I'm trying to create a renegade and heretics cultist army but the Vraks book only does Nurgle. Any ideas?

I imagine that a slaanesh cult uprising would happen from the top down. Specifically the nobles (the young ones especially), simply over indulging of all things pleasurable. The next phase would be eternal youth, this is where the older nobles would be drawn in. Over time the excesses would increase in order to have new experiences. It wouldn't take long before the killings of the civilians would start in secret, starting with the mundane such as stabbing, slowly becoming more cruel and drawn out to experience the thrill for longer.

I would imagine that a Slaanesh cult would be limited to those in positions of luxury/wealth so would be relatively small in size, but due to their positions have a large influence. It would be quite possible that the average civilian would even realise, beyond rumours about the nobles. They may clash with Imperial forces, thinking that they were loyal servants of the emperor and it is these imperial forces who have turned from the emperor.

As for Khorne cults, look towards the way Hollywood often portrays roman gladiators (lose you die), I think this sort of blood sport would be the ideal way a Khorne cult could spread - the Romans often used Gladiators to control the mob, and as such control Rome.

Caiphas Cain deals with a Slaanesh incursion in The Traitors hand. Its notable for the fact that the planet is also being attacked by Khornates, but the guard doesn't realise the difference between the two at first.

Thanks man! One of the things people seem to forget about crime dramas, real life and fantasy, is that the underground and criminal empires all have things that slaneesh loves; Sex and drugs! as for what they look like... I imagine mostly bright colors and/or BDSM equipment on at all times when things really explode, and regular clothes when they are trying to keep it secret. as for weapons, probably whatever they can get their hands on. After all, if they can make "art" out of a cracked skull it doesn't matter if you use a high end mace or the leg from a table.

I was thinking more of free mason lodge levels because of the obvious but I guess so! I was more thinking:

"Man, doing it with these nipple clamps this is just... too normal now! I don't know what else to do... Wait, you can do what with those flesh-hooks?! I've also got a bit of an idea brewing about a Slaaneshi cult that starts in the oppressed workforce of an industrial world.

It begins as a cult of a 'Mother of Mercy', who offers her followers comfort and respite from their terrible living conditions. It's ignored by the Imperial authorities as just another cult of an Imperial Saint, but its charitable facade hides a rotten core.

These cults would have to be insidious to thrive on planets where Imperial agents are astute.

How about looking away from the obvious orgy, human sacrifice and secret rituals, instead look to a society fixated with instant gratification, desire to be beautiful, the best, the latest trend, having a million youtube or facebook followers.... a mix between x-factor wannabies, big brother and kim kardashian,... where its about all kinds of excess and desire for perfection without the hard graft or actual talent,.... thats Slaanesh's angle!! Over some years the congregation becomes bigger, more loyal (or fanatic) to the preacher and promising members are introduced to pure Slaneeshi worship. When the uprising is ready the preachers lead their brainwashed congregations against Arbites and PDF while social elite is paralysed by their Slaneesh infiltrators.

These cultist would look fairly ordinary, but with some/a lot of flagellants and their squad leaders are typical Slaneesh with bright colours and a lot of naked skin.

Good points about getting away from the raw debauchery imagery. In response I'll propose a food craze, where an entire society begins to elevate a particular food (like wine or truffles) to insane significance. Got to get it, must have it, starting to kill for it.

The Black Crusade RPG Slaanesh supplement had something like that. A rich food connoisseur competing with others over creating and eating the next great feast. He got bored and dissatisfied with all the fine and exotic ingredients he already had until one day he found a great new taste by accident. Turns out that was the taste of human flesh from the chef or server burning his hand against a hot plate or surface. The connoisseur moves on to kidnapping, torturing, cooking, and eating others (culminating in his rivals).

The Slaanesh themed adventure had a food related contest against a specialist in gluttony as a form of excess. The contest could either involve eating vast quantities of normal (and not so normal) food or it involved who could come up with the most extreme and rare thing to consume.

Nice! Reminds me of the cauldron of human parts in Conan. I like it when GW expands on their concepts like that.

Speaking of Conan, what about those roided up bodybuilders that look all crazy, you got Pride/vanity all wrapped up in chemical (supplements) excess. You could build a solid Slaanesh cult off that obsession too.

definatly honestly even if it's just sex it's probably one of the most appealing of the four.

Nurgle is really painful to start out with and kinda gross.
